Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) Discussion Board

Stable dosage: The 900mg of Gabapentin helps significantly with my RLS but again only if I keep taking Tramadol. I tried to take only 2 tramadol and my RLS symptoms came back. So, the stable dosage for me is 900mg of Gabapentin and 3x50mg of Tramadol.

10:39pm, My RLS came back so 4 x 50mg of Tramadol and 3x300mg of Gabapentin doesn't resolve my RLS symptoms in my legs after going to sleep. I guess I'll have to go back on Neupro.

I felt really tired eventually fell asleep and woke up at 5pm just in time to take my wife out to dinner for her birthday. I noticed that I didn't feel antsy, I could sit at the table after eating and talk more for a while. When we got back home, paid the baby sitter I went to bed with no problems. ...

Its noon on Saturday, was laying down watching a movie on my phone and possibly falling asleep and I had to get up as my RLS in my calves kicked in. So, I took 4x50mg of Tramadol and 3x300mg of Gabapentin, increasing the dose to 900mg of Gabapentin per day. I took them at 1pm instead of the evening.

Well, 5 days on 300mg of Gabapentin with 4 x 50mg of Tramadol and I already asked my neurologist if I can increase the dose to 600mg per day of Gabapentin. He agreed and tonight I took 600mg of Gabapentin and 4 x 50mg of Tramadol at 5pm. At 1030pm I got out of bed and apprehensive to go back to bed ...

This gambentin and ultram are a good combination. 300mgx1 and 50mgx4 respectively.

I had two sleep studies done, one at Virginia Hospital Center which was inconclusive. So my doctor sent me to a "better" sleep center, American Sleep Medicine in Tysons Corner, VA who said I have severe sleep apnea. I don't trust the results.

I just emailed my CPAP supplier, BPGamma, to see if I could upgrade to a ASV. We shall see what the response will be very soon. I currently don't use the CPAP machine as it is uncomfortable and it makes my RLS worse.

Well, I'm back from the pain center. Note, my RLS was so bad last night I didn't take my 4x 50mg Ultram but one 5mg Oxycodone at 4pm and another at midnight. I slept really well. I have an appointment with a pain center on Monday. I'll ask for the extended release oxycondone then.

If Oxycontin doesn't kick in for 2 hours and still only lasts 4-6 hours why not just take the Oxycodone?

So people take one before bed to allow you to fall asleep then one in the morning before you go to work? why do some doctors have no problem prescribing ultram but refer you to a pain clinic if you want to discus oxycodone?

I just met with my neuro on Monday. He will continue 3x50mg Ultram for the next 6 months and gave me a referral to a pain center if I want to try Oxycodone. Since all the DA don't work for me but need supplementation with an opiate. I don't know whether to try Oxycodone or just stay on the ultram. I...

I see Johns Hopkins is the closest center to me. I went to Hopkins and was treated by a doctor there for RLS. My ferritin was checked and I stabilized with ultram. I found a neurologist closer to home as Baltimore had many riots and the hospital is in the heart of Baltimore. Karen from the RLS group...

I just read the whitepaper that discusses augmentation, shiw it to myneuro.
I was stable on three nightly ultram so that is where I will shoot for at my appt Monday.
Note: The paper mentions slow release oxycodone.
