You got an appointment with your own medical practice on a Sunday ?? Excellent.

We would have to go to the emergency locum GP cover based in one of the hospitals.

Glad to know you have your antibiotic which will kick in within a day or so.

I agree with runkrun, what about asking your GP straight out for an opiate, tramadol is what has made the difference for me, topping up my requip, and a face-to-face appointment is so much better than email in which the tone can be misread. Most people are wary of trying a different med, I would tak...

Stitch, that's very tough, that the after surgery pain is so bad. We always hope that there is a pain relief med that will hit the spot, so to speak. Sadly we all know on this site that there is not a perfect medication for every ailment. It is wonderful that your rls is under control, especially as...

Hi Sleuth The cost of the consultation is about the same as here in the UK if we were to make a private appointment i.e. not through our healthcare system. When I read of your costs, and also in another thread the cost of some of the meds/tests, I have to be grateful that over here we pay a flat rat...

Doety, I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight. The worst thing has to be staggering with exhaustion and unable to stay still cos of severe rls. Noone can possibly understand how bad this is without experiencing it.

Hmmm.... I'm also one of those who has to have a fitting... relatively narrow back but b.i.g. front. Our UK sizings may be a bit different but I use a G/GG but only at 34" or 36". Means I'm paying around £40 per item. Often wonder if a reduction in my younger years would have saved me from...

Ann, you are being thoroughly tested at present, both physically and emotionally. It is so unfair that no matter how well versed one is (as you are) bottom line is that ' nothing works all of the time for all of the people '. A few words, the meaning of which, have brought most of us to the edge of ...

Compared to other members on this site I know very very little about the pharmaceutical medications, in particular the opiates, apart from what I have used myself which is requip and tramadol. But I know plenty about the symptoms, the distress and the non pharm stuff. And even considering how little...

There we are..... Christmas is over for another year. Yesterday we all went to eldest son for Christmas dinner, and this evening we had everyone for a buffet party, arriving at around 5pm and the last one has just gone. We had 15 plus 4 kiddies who were still going strong at midnight. A lot of prepa...

If your psych is willing to take heed of the Mayo Algorithm and follow the advice then you may get the help you need despite his not being an rls expert.

Actually, what is an rls expert ???
Someone who is helpful and willing is a godsend.

Please don't feel embarrassed ... there is no need.

Sleuth, things are so awful for you at present, and I send best wishes. I agree that you should email Dr B. He has also always responded to me really quickly. I may be way off beam here, but if your psychiatrist can prescribe medications for you, is it possible to work with the psych using the Mayo ...
