Re: Legs feeling very heavy

No; I have never experienced a sensation like that. Hope you find a solution, it sounds miserable.

Re: New person from Maryland

SLEEPYANGEL, I am blessed with a particularly high-functioning digestive tract that seems to take constipating medications relatively in its stride. I don't think I am typical. I do have some constipation but nothing that ... as it were ... completely stops me in my tracks. I find liquorice tablets ...

Re: New person from Maryland

Hi Jerilyn, Going through withdrawal from a dopamine agonist, as you currently are, is exceptionally hard. I really feel for you. And you are quite correct that it could well get even worse when you stop taking the medication entirely. However there is certainly light at the end of the dark tunnel. ...

Re: Infusion Update

Festina lente, Ann. I can see why you hesitate between the options you set out for alternating. The first sounds great in that you get a good long run on both meds and also a reasonable break from each but the weekly regime is straightforward, theoretically easier to operate and if it worked, could ...

Re: Iron as immediate relief

Agreed; definitely the first place to start and possibly my symptoms are just a bit outside the range it could help.

Re: Potatoes for Restless legs

I have to say with regret that I do not find much relief from the cold cooked potatoes. I could not say categorically that I get no relief but I have had symptoms on nights when I have eaten them ... That's not to say that I won't struggle on with this experiment - they are quite tasty to my Irish s...

Re: Iron as immediate relief

Think I can say categorically that for me it doesn't work to provide immediate relief. I have tried it for I think 4 nights now. I have been taking it on its own after I get into bed, at the onset of symptoms on an empty stomach with vitamin C (although I now know from Steve's thread that that is no...

Re: I New Here.

Have you had your serum ferritin tested? Getting your iron levels up can be very helpful for some. You need to get the actual figure - not just to hear you are 'normal' which is what I am told every time I get it done. Kratom works for me also.

Re: Just found something that works for me

I did post this elsewhere but just in case it got overwhelmed, the sensation of the Relaxis pad is quite similar to when you are on a large passenger ferry boat and can feel the engines throbbing. A sort-of low, deep 'thrumming' type vibration. Not buzzy or fast. It might be worth looking out for so...

Re: My new Relaxis

I think that is so sweet, Steve, that you did it to 'surprise the nurse' - I could imagine doing something just like that. Polar Bear, thanks for wonderfully funny and warm posts. Trainspotting/The Commitments is spot on - am in equal parts terrified and enjoying the anarchic madness of it all - esp...

Re: My pharma diary

Hopefully improving the vit D situation will have a beneficial outcome all round. It would be very interesting to hear how things continue for you. Interestingly, I got very low during the last week - it all felt hopeless and miserable and I couldn't really account for it as hadn't had dramatic chan...

Re: Supplemental Iron

Thank you, Steve. I really enjoyed the detail and although I had a rough idea of the science before reading it is fixed much more firmly in my mind. I wonder if I could ask you to clarify - and I do apologise that this involves some gory detail: if I notice the typical blackening of the stools when ...

Re: My new Relaxis

Just in case it would help anyone to know, my husband (who specifically asked to be credited with this), noticed the Relaxis pad on in the bed for the first time since I learned to lower the vibration level and described it as like being on board a ferry ship and feeling the engine. And that is very...

Re: Potatoes for Restless legs

Yes; I heard that it was particularly predominant in Sweden (although whether to believe everything you hear about Sweden these days?) BUT there was that study someone posted recently about a study in India so clearly it must be a problem there also.
