Re: Iron Patches

I got my serum ferritin results last week and my iron had remained pretty much level. It was 66 and the last test (just before I started the iron patches) was also in the mid 60s - of course I have misplaced the note I made of the result. I am disappointed but at least it hadn't gone down. I am pret...

Re: Cannabis

Can you say what strain of cannabis you are taking, QyX? I looked at the tedtalk you linked and one thing that leaped out was the effect of the slight change in strain on the autistic kids - one strain worked like a miracle and a different one made no impact at all. None of the four strains of canna...

Re: Iron Patches

I have been using patches for about 2 months and just yesterday went for a serum ferritin test. It was 68 before I started so will be interested to see what it is now. I get the results next week and will post then.

Re: Cold Turkey Blues

Overall feeling much better... feeling more like myself? That is exactly how I felt when I finally eliminated pramipexole. Could not believe just what an effect it had had on my personality until I was off it. Well done. It is truly torture getting off it ... but so worth it. Things can only get be...

Re: Experience with Injectafer?

Holland, I hope things have settled down and you have returned to 'normal' you. I suspect that Beth may be correct that aggravating the hip may have irritated your rls. It could also be the reduction/elimination of kratom. I definitely find an appreciable - though not excruciating - increase in my r...

Re: Update, Funny but True

Yes; I have had the same experience. If I had to work I could keep going and get through surprisingly technical stuff even with virtually no sleep night after night. Just occasionally it would catch up with me, however, and I did have the humiliating experience of falling asleep in a small meeting r...

Please tell us what iron supplement you were taking. I would love to get my serum ferritin to over 100.

Re: Proferrin/Iron Heme Polypeptide Tablet

Unlike you, Beth, I have the sort of mundane mind that will accept instructions from the side of a packet. I hadn’t even considered what dose to take and have now ordered (at a fairly hefty price tag - though cheap at the price - how often have I used that justification? - if it helps resolve the le...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

My sleep consultant had me on pregabalin when I was withdrawing from pramipexole but unfortunately it did nothing for my symptoms at the time. She totally ignored my plight when I was without sleep for nearly 3 months after coming off pramipexole even though I contacted her several times. I now wish...

Re: What DA to take

Good luck Julie. I think it was your posts that first introduced me to kratom - I had never heard of it before and it has been a life saver for me over the last two and a half years. I don't rely on it solely but I don't know what I would do without it either. Thank you for your informative and enco...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Yes, cold turkey from 3.5mg sounds pretty severe. He does have a lot of experience getting people off d/as but I presume he always gives them opioids to assist. Your experience of reducing from 5 to 3.5 without dreadful symptoms mirrors my own in the early stages of withdrawing from pramipexole but ...

Re: What DA to take

If you have to discontinue kratom it might be worth starting to reduce now as there may be a slight withdrawal issue, especially as you have been taking it for so long. Your rls might be slightly exacerbated during the withdrawal process. I would have thought a dopamine agonist for a few weeks would...

Re: Iron supplementation & Constipation

What iron supplementation are you taking? I have heard that iron bisglycinate (aka 'gentle iron') is less severe from a constipation point of view. Never heard of that perineum pressing solution before - it's inspired - so obvious - like slicing bread before selling it - obvious and yet elusive unti...

Re: Experience with Injectafer?

That is AMAZING news, Holland. It has made my day to read this. I found that there is a slight withdrawal process with kratom - even when dose is quite low - predominantly flu-like symptoms, a low mood, perhaps some elevated anxiety and some increased rls - but usually it doesn't last too long with ...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Betty, I would definitely email Dr. Buchfuhrer and outline all the drugs you are taking and the plan of your GP. I don't know for sure but I would have thought that pregabalin will not provide adequate cover while you are withdrawing from ropinerole, even if you take long breaks at each stage of the...
