Great answers as always. I'm about to start Lyrica as my neuro says my PN is not really being addressed & he thinks it could be a PN type pain similar to the rls that's waking me?? I'm more inclined to think it's the PLMD as the Benzo wears off. Maybe by adding another anticonvulsant (for pain) ...

Mixed sensations

I was wondering if anyone on the board knows about the various different sensations that we feel. A mixture of peripheral neuropathy & rls gives me aches, pins & needles, creepy crawly, crampy tightness, twitches & PLMD. As it has been very well put recently, our journeys are often very ...

In 1998 I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy (tingling, pins & needles in the feet & then the legs.) This was just a few months after starting anti retro viral meds. The drug combination was switched but the PN stayed. Then my symptoms worsened & I found I was hardly able to sleep....

P.S. if you scroll down to the story that's (rather unfortunately) illustrated with can-can dancers, (geddit?).

Hi all, In the matter of compression stockings (I'm not sure what we'd call them in the UK) this article appeared in today's Daily Mail.

Hi autumnj I'm sure you'll get lots of help here. If your ferritin levels are considered low I'm suprised you've not been given some sort of iron treatment in a clinical setting rather than the meds you describe. I'm sure one of the seasoned people on this board will be able to help you. Best wishes...

Thanx again ViewsAskew. I've not been brave enough to try the new meds yet. Although my rls is painful & interupting my sleep it is currently pretty much the same each night( for now). A degree of predictability that I'm relying on to get through a busy stressful time at work. I'm probably gonna...

I find I use a variety of creams & gels depending on what the neuropathy or rls seems to be up to. If the feet are numb I use a little Ibulieve gel, mostly my feet & sometimes the legs feel hot & so I use a cool foot gel. More recently a heat spray on the back of my aching legs sometimes...

Thanks for the heads up ViewsAskew. Rather than add the Mirapex to the Requip (2mg) as my neuro seemed to indicate, I would prefer to start the Mirapex (which I've never had before) on it's own. I've only been given 125mcg doses of it, would that be enough to avoid some awful Requip withdrawal it se...

A few years ago I bought something called the Rebuilder System device online as I had developed peripheral neuropathy (PN). So I started daily use of the machine, which also has a EMS function that you use about a month into the treatment. I had mixed results as I think (maybe) the device may someti...

In London it's possible to get MJ thru an 'alternative medicine' route depending on your medical history. Without givin too much detail, I qualify & have tried MJ intermittently over the years. I find at times it can be very beneficial. I've never been a smoker & when I first used to take it...

Aching legs

I can't remember when it started but I also have aching legs (especially the part behind the knees) but generally aching or burning most of the time. It didn't occur to me that it could be the Requip (2mg). I was thinking it was just advancing rls. I am about to add 125 mcg of Mirapex to eventually ...

Requip plus Mirapex

Hi from London. I'm a newbie to this board but an old hand at rls. I think I've been augmenting for some time but my neuro just kept upping my Requip (2mg a night). I saw a more sympathetic doctor last time & he has suggested I add 125mcg of Mirapex (eventually coming off Requip) & wean me o...
