Re: MTHFR Gene Mutation

It has been two weeks and I feel so stable. [...] Has anyone else experienced methylation supplementation and a reduction in RLS symptoms? So, do you not have RLS anymore? Your original post indicated you were taking melatonin and magnesium to treat your RLS, both of which aren’t very useful for RL...

Re: MTHFR Gene Mutation

It has been two weeks and I feel so stable. I sleep so well I get up hours before the sun rises. My mood is in control and I don't react like others predict based upon historically knowing how I behave. My oldest daughter, 15, is taking it and now she talks to me and gets up early without issue. No...

Re: Opioid Tolerance

I was told my doctor that going straight from augmented Pramipaxole to opioids may require escalating does of opioids and/or more opioids to control symptoms. The rationale is that the by not taking a drug holiday the dopamine system never has a chance to return to baseline.

Re: Opioid Tolerance

I saw my RLS doctor today and he said that it may be because I never took a long enough break after coming off the DA. Rather, I went straight from the augmented Mirapex to the Methadone. He speculates that, by not having the dopamine system reset and augmentation die down, the methadone perpetuates...

Re: MTHFR Gene Mutation

Hello RLS community! I know you are busy but I found relief for my RLS recently so I wanted to share and see if others were also enjoying a similar reprieve. I had my Genomind Assay done in 2018. I learned I have the MTHFR gene mutation that doesn't allow the liver to break down folate (B9) to meth...

Would Augmentation Occur in Healthy Controls & Parkinson’s

I’ve had some thoughts about augmentation and was hoping I could get some feedback. I’m trying to understand if only dopamine dysfunction could be the root cause and end-point for some people. If I gave pramipaxole to my girlfriend who does not have RLS, would she eventually develop some form of aug...

They responded to pramipaxole.

RLS in Head

I have RLS in my head. It comes on as a pressure sensation when I try to sleep, it’s not creepy/crawly. I have no sensation or urge to move in my limbs. It is alleviated by waking up. It’s like my brain is sending me a signal to wake up. If the RLS wakes me up from sleep, it feels like a popping sen...

Re: Opioid Tolerance

I’ve used DXM to help attenuate tolerance and it does seem to work. It slowed tolerance, allowing 10mg to work for another 30 days. There is a lot of information about opioid tolerance on Reddit, r/opiates. I’d highly recommend to anyone having this issue.

Re: Dipyridamole

I’ve restarted this drug as I’m tapering off opioids. Right now I’m taking 5 mg methadone, .125 mirapex, 75 mg dipiridiyamole. The dipiridiyamole definitely makes you feel better the next day, it completely eliminates the daytime fatigue - to the point where I’m not at all tired after less than 4 ho...

Re: Vacation Reprieve

This happens to me as well. We may have the very similar RLS pathology. There is a logical basis, increase in endorphins and dopamine. That vacation high will correspond with a subsequent crash when you come home - in both dopamine and endorphins. What goes up must come down.

Why Do Opioids Work?

I’ve been researching this quite heavily, but can’t come to any definitive answers. Hoping some other informed people can chime in. I know it’s not 100% understood, but there have to be some theories.

Thank you very much, that really helped calm my nerves and put things in perspective. Yes, life has been much more chaotic than usual. Hopefully, it will subside.

Opioid Tolerance

Unfortunately, it seems like I’m building some sort of tolerance to methadone. I’m very very concerned. I was on 5 mg in June, then jumped to 10 at the beginning of November. Now it seems like 10 isn’t cutting it. Has anyone had any experience like this? Im freaking out rn, very scared that I’ll nev...
