Re: Newbie still exploring
More distraction hints: When my legs were really bad, before finding my current cocktail, I worked on jigsaw puzzles. Standing, stretching and walking a little while finding the pieces helped and passed the time in the middle of the night. Now my legs are not as painful but still wake me up several ...

Re: Exercise and RLS
I could never be a couch potato because I can't sit! Might be one advantage of RLS. Just kidding of course.

Re: Surgery
Anesthesiologists don't want to hurt us, I've found them to be very receptive to information about RLS and potential problems.

Re: Surgery
Best wishes, I hope it doesn't mess up your RLS either. At least you will be armed with information for the anesthesiologist.

On the Move by Dr. Oliver Sacks Oliver Sacks was a quirky, eccentric neurologist, born and educated in England then moved to California where he was an intern and resident, andspent the rest of his life in New York when he wasn't travelling the world. He was a drug addict (in California), a body bu...

Re: Dopamine withdrawal timing
"I have a neurological condition that is known as Willis-Ekbom Disease, but is more commonly referred to as Restless Legs Syndrome". That's an excellent way to phrase it. All my close friends know I can't sit down for very long and need to stand up at dinner or a movie. They understand or at least ...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again
We always said it was faster and easier to do it the second time. Wishful thinking, but also true as we had figured out what we had done.
Still, we hated when that happened.

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again
Glad to hear about your beneficial appointment. My husband and I had a typesetting/design business and we would sometimes work for hours without saving a document then *bam* the program crashed and all was lost. We saved every five minutes for a while until history repeated. Now the software saves b...

Re: My Story and Dilemma
I walk seven k or more every day possible (weather permitting, I live in a high rainfall area). I don't know how bad it would be if I didn't walk.

Re: My Story and Dilemma
Constipation is awful. Try Benefiber and/or Metamucil. They are plants, not drugs. I prefer Benefiber because it can go in any beverage, hot or cold and has no taste. It also mixes in with yoghurt, custard—almost anything. Maybe once or twice a week I also take a Coloxyl (laxsol) tablet if I feel re...

I take levothyroxine in the middle of the night when I wake up for the first time. It's right on my bathroom sink in one of those weekly pill dispensers. By taking it in the middle of the night I am sure it does not interfere with my iron tablet.

I had my second Pfizer shot last week. No problems with either shot except a sore arm with the second. RLS no better or worse.
