Not sure what tawil might be, but pregabatin might be pregabalin which is Lyrica. I just checked her email and the way I spelled the medications in my prior posting is exactly how she spelled them. They were obviously typos, but how was I supposed to know which meds she was referring to. I think th...

She was going to give me opiates so that might have been it. If she didn't answer me, how was I to know? I can't help it, but when I take strong medications, I want to know there is a person at the other end who will help me if I run into problems. Most of them downright lie about side effects, so i...

This the second nasty email exchange we've had. I don't think I can go back to her. I also don't like that she ignores me after she prescribes a med. If I have a problem, I have nowhere to turn. The last two meds she mentioned were tawil and pregabatin. I never heard of them. I couldn't find them on...

Doety, I have been following your postings. I have nothing to offer by way of advice on medications because I've not taken very many myself. I've actually been too chicken to experiment to tell you the truth. Anyway, my heart goes out to you. I can imagine what you're going through and know it isn't...

I have no primary doctor for RLS. She is the one who prescribed meds and then ignores me. I can't work with a doctor who does that. I am spending my savings on these doctors bills. That is why I'm so upset. It is like taking money and flushing it down the toilet. I didn't go to this doctor for RLS. ...

I have a lot of gastro problems. I have diverticulitus. I was just on cipro a couple of weeks ago. I don't recall it helping my RLS much.

I will mention this SIBO to my gastro doctor, though. I'll try anything.

Dogeyed, I saw the psychiatrist on Thursday. BTW, he is a psychopharmacologist, which means there is no talk therapy. He merely prescribes medication. He is outrageously expensive at $300 per half hour. Anyway, this is how this meeting went. First off, he wanted to deal with the RLS, even though he ...

Aha, I just found a grant she was awarded this February. What does this have to do with RLS? The Foundation's Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program was designed to provide four-year postdoctoral research awards offered to historically disadvantaged physicians who are committed to developin...

This last doctor I was seeing didn't want me to read these boards. She thought it was a bunch of misinformation.

I wonder if she gets some sort of grant for each patient. That might be why she kept me on as a "patient" while doing nothing.

Thank all of you so much. I was afraid to come back because I was embarrassed. I've been stranded for so long with my feelings that I forget that you all have walked more than a mile in my shoes. I will see what this psychiatrist has to say. When you think about it, I bet that doctor I was seeing do...

Dogeyed, You are not stupid in any way. I am still without a doctor for my RLS, which gets worse each day. I heard from the original doctor I was seeing. I went back to see her, but the same thing happened. She prescribed Ripinole and told me when to take it. She said I should email her to let her k...

I am in a state of shock. I have been taking Prilosec every night for two years now. Could that be contributing to my RLS symptoms?

I don't know what to say. This is beyond nice! This ranks up there with some sort of Nobel Prize thingie. I have to tell you about all there. First, the one in New Jersey is near Philadelphia, which is a very far from NYC. Not only do I not drive, I wonder what seeing a doctor so far away will do fo...

Thank you!! That's so nice of you.

I have started checking them out on Google.

The three I checked do not deal with RLS. I really don't know how all those doctors show up on an RLS search. It's insane.

I met with my psychiatrist yesterday. He told me that most doctors will not prescribe opiates because they are afraid of addiction and being sued.
