Re: Head roll

Mine is 24/7. Mine feels like electricity going down my leg and then the leg would jerk. I tried over 20 meds. Merapex, a DA worked sort of for awhile, then stopped. Then methadone worked great. I can no longer get that, so now I take buprenorphine. I also take gabapentin. Mine is now controlled. If...

Re: Methadone

My side effects with Methadone lasted 2 months, then went away.
You are on a very small dose. That's great.
They started me on 10 mg.

Re: buprenorphine transdermal (patch) dosis

I take the buprenorphine film 2 mg every day dividing into doses. I looked up conversion to patch. 10 micro grams in a 12.5 cm2 area over 7 days = 10 mg My RLS has been controlled for months. So my dose is a 5th of a patch. My doctor also told me it's better for older people instead of taking methad...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

We can only be hopeful. Just recently I started having some gum issues. I started the buprenorphine last summer.

Re: What’s the end game?

I'm 73, female. I've had RLS since 1990. So, 33 years. Mine has been severe for about 17 years day and night. I have short term memory loss due to sleep deprivation. I had to retire at age 60 because of that. I'm an RN. I've tried about 20+ meds. The DA worked for about 8 years with occasional RLS, ...

Re: RLS and Hypertension

I have a wrist B/P monitor. It works great. Easy to use. Not too expensive. Regarding high BP at night. I have severe sleep apnea as well as severe RLS. Recently my cpap machine broke. 3 months before I got a replacement due to several set backs. Anyway, I noticed that my BP goes up at night because...

Re: Sleeping Arrangements

We gave up and we have separate rooms. We do gather in his bed before we go to sleep to watch tv, etc. He is a very light sleeper and every time I got up, he'd wake up.

Re: Spinal Cord & DRG Stimulator Trial

Thank you so much for responding. That helps me a lot in understanding what to expect. I was not aware that your RLS was caused by pinched nerves/back issues. Your RLS has been somewhat harder to treat, correct? Do you think that is because the pathology is different - not neurological. Mine is def...

Re: Diet

My RLS continues to be improved. I had a flare up in Aug, but it's gone now. My RLS ended after my last back injection. It's been 12 weeks this Thursday, since my last injection. I'm going to wait awhile to see what happens, to see whether RLS comes back. Before the weight loss, I'd still have some ...

Re: Spinal Cord & DRG Stimulator Trial

First, I did a trial. The leads were placed externally. It was for a week. A battery was attached. I wore it with a belt they provided. The trial was to see if it would help with my RLS. It did, so I agreed with the surgery. The Doctor who did it, this was one of his specialties. He had done many of...

Re: methadone vs buprenorphine/naloxone

I used to take methadone and gabapentin. They would no longer prescribe methadone. I now take buprenorphine and gabapentin and I'm actually doing better.

Re: What Comes After Methadone?

I tried to keep my methadone dose at 10 mg and added gabapentin. It worked for me for awhile. Then I had to switch to buprenorphine because they wouldn't prescribe methadone. I'm doing much better.

Re: Spinal Cord & DRG Stimulator Trial

I have it set for my RLS. I noticed that there is a line. If I have it set too high, then my RLS starts up. With the help of my Rep, we fined tuned the amount of stimulation. In addition, I take meds too. That being said, if I didn't have RLS, then I would focus more on my back pain.
