Re: Mirapex ER

Confused? Update on my phone call to Dr. Becker: He increased me to Mirapex ER 0.75 mg and told me to take a Lortab 5/500 and an Ambien 10 mg every night for the next week until I see him (which is tomorrow 2/2). He also told me to take the Mirapex ER earlier in the day somewhere from 3pm to 6pm. I ...

Re: Follow-up question regarding Requip discontinuance

Rlsidaho, I cringed when I read your post. I have had many nights from hell as have probably everyone here, but I can't imagine going through a night like you had with nothing to give me even a short respite. Certainly hope having your prescription filled this morning has given you some much deserve...

Re: Mirapex ER

Beth, Thanks for your reply. I am definitely trying to be patient, and I am trying to give the Mirapex ER a definite chance. I am due to call Dr. Becker tomorrow as he requested I let him know how I was doing in a week. I am still on the lower dose until I talk to him or his assistant. I will defini...

Re: Mirapex ER

Thanks Polar Bear and Ann. Dr. Becker had me start on the lower dose Mirapex ER, but gave me samples of two different strengths. I was really hoping the lower dose would work, but if I have a bad night tonight, I will probably go up to the higher dose. Guess I was just so hopeful after sleeping the ...

Re: Medical Alert Card

Thanks for sharing that Betty. I hadn't thought of listing all the meds as meds I'm allergic to. Makes great sense and could save the rest of us a lot of problems. It truly is the only way most of them will pay attention. Thanks again.

Re: Mirapex ER

Back from being checked out. As I thought, it was medication related. But my husband wouldn't take no for an answer. At least now, he can stop worrying about the fall. CT was normal. Not much fun being there while in the throes of RLS, but my legs did settle down a little. Hopefully, the Mirapex ER ...

Re: Mirapex ER

Thanks Rthom, Unfortunately, I was trying to watch tv after taking a lortab to settle down my legs, and I realized that I am seeing double out of my left eye. That is the side I hit when I fell. So my husband is taking me in to the ER to be checked out. I haven't had any problems from the fall until...

Re: Mirapex ER

thanks Ann. I have a dilemma tonight. RLS/WED has broken through with a fury. I took an Ambien and now Lortab and can't sit still for very long. I'm trying to be very careful, but of course I am having to walk around at times. I was only able to sleep for 1hour, 30 minutes. I'm thinking this lower d...

Mirapex ER

Has anyone had experience with taking Mirapex ER after taking the regular dosing of Pramipexole? I saw Dr. Becker in Dallas, Tx last Thursday (recommended by Dr. B) and he has me trying Mirapex ER. Thanks Beth for the suggestion to email Dr. B. I was really encouraged by Dr. Becker, because he verif...

Re: Live life to the full

Polar Bear, I too never meant to be morbid. The original topic of the thread is Live life to the fullest. "Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass... It's about learning how to dance in the rain. - Vivian Greene This quote has meant a lot to me and your saying "get down on your kn...

Re: requip made my rls worse..is mirapex going to do it also

Ann, The every other day certainly sounds like an option that I would definitely consider if it becomes possible. As you said, only time will tell. I guess I am getting ahead of myself since I have not even seen the specialist I ws referred to. I just want to say thank you to you and all of you who ...

Ann,

Thanks for that information. You answered a question I have had but not asked. Mirapex worked so well for me for several years that I have wondered if I would be able to take it again once I had a sufficient break from it.

Re: Live life to the full

Polar Bear, You write beautifully. I would like to emphasize (not as elegantly) to everyone to embrace those you love and let them know how you feel. Living every day to the fullest is not always easy to remember, but sometimes those days can be cut short. My husband has Renal Cell CA with mets, but...

Re: Follow-up question regarding Requip discontinuance

Hi, I don't have any insight or experience to offer because I haven't been down this road yet. I do agree with the others about being upfront with your doctor about what you are experiencing and what you need. I have been reading your posts with a lot of interest . From everything I am reading , I m...
