Re: Gabapentin for WED and Sciatica
He went from 28mg to 4mg in ~ 8 weeks. He has been on 4mg for ~6 weeks. The last 2 weeks he has been on gabapentin (slowly increased to 1200mg) but he had severe nausea and dizziness so he had to come off it. It had no impact at all when he was on it. Although I know it works chronically so it takes...

Re: Gabapentin for WED and Sciatica
I know there are many people on this board who have really severe RLS/WED and are prescribed two different opioids to keep their symptoms under control. Does anyone know if Dr. Earley will prescribe two opioids for severe RLS? The reason I am asking is my brother was on 28 mg ropinirole. His doctor ...

Re: Worsening of Insomnia
Sorry, I apologize. I meant with regards to increasing severity of the disease. So as the disease worsened over the years did the insomnia worsen with it? Did someone always have insomnia and RLS came after that or does someone have severe RLS and no insomnia.

Worsening of Insomnia
I was wondering if anyone has not had insomnia with RLS and how severe is the disease? I’m just wondering if insomnia parallels the severity of the disease. In other words, as the disease worsens, will my insomnia worsen as well? Are they related to each other? Maybe some people have severe RLS but ...

Ultimate goal of opioids?
I was wondering what the goal is once a doctor puts you on opioids because of augmentation? For example, I am on 10mg of methadone and 1mg ropinirole and am relatively symptom free. He mentioned he wants me to continue dropping ropinirole so I am no longer on it. I know everyone is treated different...

Re: would like to hear from others weaning off of dopamine m
Thanks for your advice. I have learned a lot here. With help, I have found an awesome doctor who has just prescribed methadone for me. I would not attempt to come off a DA without an opioid and that is solely based on you and other people’s suggestions here. I know I wouldn’t make it without one. Th...

Wow! You have had a very difficult time with this. Mine is not that bad when compared to you. I am hoping I fall into the mild to moderate range you have outlined. I appreciate your help. I’ll use your reference as a rough time frame for what to expect.

Re: would like to hear from others weaning off of dopamine m
I am curious of the time frame when using an opioid to wean off a DA. I know is can vary upon the individual but has anyone come off of it in a week or is it closer to a month? Do you notice the effect right away or does it take time to work. The reason I am asking is because I am about to due this ...

Re: Why Alcohol Can Worsen RLS/WED??
This was just my opinion so I don’t know why he would be reacting that way. I don’t have the knowledge to explain that. The only thought I have is maybe he had RLS/WED and the alcohol withdrawal was exacerbating it. The only reason I say that is because alcohol is so common at worsening RLS/WED. I’m...

Why Alcohol Can Worsen RLS/WED??
Here is a possible explanation on why Alcohol can worsen RLS/WED symptoms. This is just one persons opinion which is why I posted in the General Topics. m Alcohol has been widely reported to worsen RLS symptoms. Alcohol is also a GABA agonists. At low doses, RLS symptoms appear and worsen as the dos...
