Caution! If you are offended by straight forward talk about sex, stop reading now! Oh, Ruby, I hate to have a fellow comrade in this . While on Mirapex, my drive wasn't diminished but I did have trouble having orgasms. Klonopin didn't seem to affect it one way or the other. I haven't taken the other...

In relation to. . .
Gene, did you have something in mind specifically? In general terms, this is a complicated issue for me. Food is tied into our emotions and our brain chemistry and our memories. Some of us find it easier to do than others to limit or change intake while others just seem to have a hard time with food...

Paul, I agree with you - many people have good luck with it, but I didn't either. I also had the compulsions. I HATED it. It did keep my legs quiet, though and I didn't get pain like you did. There are many of us here for whom it didn't work. Some people do have good luck with Requip even if they ha...

Welll. . . I should log out and pretend I'm someone else before I post this . Anyone sensitive to X -rated topics, be forewarned . I notice the trembly legs after I've been in the female superior position (giggles while writing - this sounds better less X-rated) during sex. The RLS is likely to star...

Let's see if I can clarify what I meant . Leg bouncing alone does not mean you have RLS/PLMD. But you can leg bounce and have RLS/PLMD. I sometimes find myself leg bouncing or leg-waving (back and forth instead of up and down) and usually that means RLS is pending. It's like PLMD. 80% of people with...

Sadie, after a couple of years on drugs, I have a different perspective than I did the day I walked into my neuro's office and got my first prescription. I truly believe everyone should have a complete view of these meds--good, bad, and ugly--before trying them. Too many doctors hand them out and do...

Verity, I read your posts and Sara and Jan's replies. They both had great things to say. RLS is one of the strangest disorders in that there are few absolutes, both in symptoms and in treatment. For many people the anti-d's make it worse but some people do report that they help. Could be that Effexo...

Thanks Corrie. I thought it was probably a learned response. Since many of us have had problems since childhood, this is not one that is likely to go away any time soon . Becat, going to bed at 10 PM? Wow, I am impressed! Now the waking up part isn't so good, though. Too bad hubby is noticing more m...

Glad to hear from you Lifejoy. I decided to email Dr B and ask him about the drug holidays with methadone. My neuro thinks it's pointless and I'm afraid my GP will listen to him. His answer cleared up some misunderstandings I have had about drug holidays. "Your neurologist is correct in that one dai...

Don't want to go to bed
Do any of you dislike going to bed at night? It's 1 AM, I am tired, my meds are working, I need to get to my studio early so I can finish work for a client, yet I keep finding things to do instead of going upstairs. Is this because of so many 'bad' nights over the years that I've conditioned myself ...

Theresa, I'm no doc, but those seem like high amounts for RLS. It might help to post on www.rlshelp.org and tell the doctor what you said here and see what he recommends. Not sure about Requip, but the average dose of Mirapex for RLS is .5 to .75 mg.

Just by your email I can tell you are honest with yourself, and honesty is the way to strength, even if what we need to do is difficult. You're right. Getting meds straight can be difficult. So, just do the best you can. You DO NOT have to stop the K before getting another drug that will help. You a...

Gluten is one of the hardest - wheat, oats, barley and rye. It's hidden in everything from soy sauce to gum. If you want to be serious about it, go to www.celiac.com or www.celiac.org. One of them had lists of things you must avoid, but can't remember which (but think .com).
Good luck, Ian!
