Re: New to group. Did I augment??

Hello Dr. Placebo, I have found your postings very informative, esp. the one about how Lyrica made you so sleepy and "hung over" in the morning. My primary care (who I think I need to fire) put me on it to get me off of kratom, because she thinks I have "an addictive personality" since I won't give ...

A Study

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04698343

The study is in California (Dr. B is running it) and in Dublin, Ohio. It looks like it involves some kind of wrap on your leg below the knee that gives little shocks to your leg. If you live near one of the study places, it might be worth a look.

Re: Is. Kratom safe?

Wow. Thanks, Steve. That's a great idea, as the doctors keep telling me that the problem with kratom is that there is not enough research on it, and they don't know how it will interact with the other meds I have to take (for my thyroid, heart, etc.) I am calling my Primary Care tomorrow.

Is. Kratom safe?

I’ve been taking kratom for 10 years. I’ve been healthy but then this Jan. I had a small stroke—a TIA I think it’s called. And this morning my blood pressure, which has always been low without meds, spiked. It came down but now my primary care and. Cardiologist are trying to get me to quit kratom an...

Re: My experiences with Cannabis

Thanks, Betty. I really appreciate the note. I've been using kratom for at least ten years now, and have probably used some every day. But, after this last experience, I'm a bit afraid of it too. I'm thinking I might try a DA drug. Since I'm 78, I'm wondering if I can get ten years out of one, since...

Re: My experiences with Cannabis

Just got home from the worst experience of my life, due to cannabis. I'm 78, and have been using cannabis oil for the last two years to help with sleeping. Every night I would take a little of the oil; maybe two or three days a week I would also take a little in the afternoon, so I could nap. Then a...

Re: Ropinirole ER use for RLS

Hi Erinrn, I am not an expert on RLS, but something in your note moved me. I am also elderly--much more elderly than you! My career was as a high school teacher, and I always felt close to nurses. At any rate, I had very mild RLS for many years, but in my late sixties it got very bad. I started the ...

Re: Finding the Right Medical Provider

Thanks, Steve. That is an excellent suggestion. Except I think I'll drop reading material at her office and ask her staff to give it to her. Then she'd have time to read it. I'll let you know.

Re: Finding the Right Medical Provider

I used to be that my main medical problem was RLS, but then I had a small stroke (a TIA) in January, and my new Primary Care today told me that she can see on my MRI a partial blockage in my carotid artery. So I'm thinking: great. I have finally found a good Primary Care doc. But then I asked her ab...

Genetic Testing

One of my daughters (both my daughters have RLS) had genetic testing done, and had a HARS marker show up, which apparently shows this: Charcut Marie Tooth Type 2W. My daughter was told this often resulted in skeletal anomolies, such as hammerhead toe (which I also have) and RLS, which I surely have....

Re: Where do I buy Kratom and is it safe?

I’ve been using kratom for almost 9 years. Is it safe? I think it’s safer than any of the Rx drugs available. I used mostly red for years but now use a variety of strains.

Re: Kratom questions

I've taken kratom every day for eight years. I don't find that it keeps me awake; in fact, because it calms my legs, it really helps me sleep. I have developed some tolerance, so to lessen the amount I need I now take a little cannabis and a very little roprinirole with it at night. I take different...
