Re: Quitting Neupro Cold Turkey

An hour after taking the oxycodone I fell asleep just fine. I didn't need a oxy codone to fall asleep Friday night but Saturday 4pm I couldn't take a nap because of my RLS. I'll take 1 ultram before my evening 3 ultram to take the edge off my calves. My neuro wouldn't upgrade me to oxycodone, wants ...

Re: Quitting Neupro Cold Turkey

About an hour after taking the oxycodone tablet last night I finally peacefully fell asleep. I am calling my neurologists office and they just tell me to go back on the Mirapex and ultram combination. I can get an appointment with him on Monday but that is 3 days away! I am legitimate! The worst par...

Re: Quitting Neupro Cold Turkey

I'm really annoyed, 1125pm Thursday night. The RLS is really in full swing. I paged my Neuro but he didn't call me back. I have three bottles lined up on the kitchen counter, 1mg Requip, .25mg of Mirapex and an old vile of Oxycodone/APAP 5-325mg tab from my appendectomy June 2010. I am contemplating...

Re: Quitting Neupro Cold Turkey

Interesting you mention the timeline as I thought "whats the half life of the drug?" Sunday will be 7 days. I have an appt April 27 with a new Neurologist here in Northern Virginia. My RLS calves are in full swing just sitting at the dining table tonight. I took two advil at 8pm and will w...

Re: Quitting Neupro Cold Turkey

I'm also taking a high dose of Cymbalta, 90mg. Which also exacerbates RLS.

Re: Quitting Neupro Cold Turkey

I had my ferritin tested at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, an outstanding facility and staff. My ferritin is normal between 100 and 150. I didn't take Neupro last night. I couldn't fall asleep until 2am and ate 3 PB sandwiches. I'm at work today and feel muscle spasms in my calves. But not a sho...

Quitting Neupro Cold Turkey

I am overweight and taking 6 bp meds for hypertension. My neurologist tells me to try harder to lose weight when I tell him about the compulsive eating, spending etc on Neupro. Now, with a clearer understanding that augmentation is with the Dopamine Antagnonist and not the Ultram which my Neurologis...

Re: RLS; Now Stable

Good point, was thinking the same thing. This guy has a wall full of accolades from best doctors in the Washingtonian and peer review at Georgetown but he doesnt know about augmentation. I think the DA actually lists a reaction with SSRIs like Cymbalta I take. He commited to the DA but seemed uneasy...

Re: RLS; Now Stable

The Ultram effectively treats my RLS symptoms. The Neupro is a nice addition as it counters the drowsy dopey feeling the ultram creates. I just watched a video from some .au doctor that states treating augmentation is done by switching to an opiod like ultram, weaning off the dopamine antagonist for...

Re: RLS; Now Stable

I was steady in mirapex for six months with ultram in an attempt to see if mirapex could replace tramadol as the sole effective low side effect treatment. Nothing works on its own, all need tramadol. My rls happens when I start to fall asleep I have to get out of bed. After taking the meds i can not...

Re: RLS; Now Stable

I took requip on and off for a few years less times than more. So, augmentation is an issue as I am used to the current dosage of Neupro, not Ultram? I am really confused.
