Well, marijuana helps many of us sleep and helps a few with leg jumping. Kratom helps many. Neither are traditional or prescription.

Re: Favorite MM vaporizer

I use kurvana vape oil cartridges. Supposedly all natural, no chemicals. I don't know if they are available outside California. I use a $15 battery. Works great.

Re: RLS; Now Stable

IThinkImInTorture, welcome. Lots of good info here, but it would be helpful to know the doses of neupro and any other meds you are taking. I take kratom with my mirapex and low dose gabapentin. Kratom can replace tramadol in some circumstances.

I tried it for a few days a year or so ago. No effect on a short trial.

Re: Fighting opioid tolerance

QyX, Might you be a candidate for intrathecal morphine with an implanted pump? While kratom generally is not as potent as strong opiods, it is also chemically distinct and it might help your symptoms even though it would not replace strong opioids. The downside of trying it is low, so might be worth...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

....And some of us use kratom, a herb with opioid-like properties (or maybe contains actual opioids - someone else please clarify). An opiate is a drug derived from the opium poppy. An opioid is a drug that has similar effects. Kratom is not an opiate but is an opioid (it stimulates the mu-opioid r...

Re: Is your DA causing augmentation?

Yes, Sinemet is a DA (dopamine agonist) like Mirapex, Neupro, and Requip. Using Sinemet in this way is not the usual treatment for augmentation.

Re: Horrible attitude from Primary Care Physician

Doesn't excuse the doc's attitude, but recognize that US docs are under lots of pressure not to prescribe opiates, including chart reviews, electronic prescription monitoring, pharmacist reporting etc. The fact that you got the prescription at all is a good sign. Providing some of the foundation's e...

(2) Do you think there is anything to be gained by trying hang on for another week or two, and to use that time to taper quickly down to zero? (3) Do you have...

Re: Essential Oils

I don't know for sure, but I thought that with the disruptions of the RLS, plus the sleep apnea, even though I may be "asleep" for 9 or 10 hours, it probably is a lot less. I think that I've probably been affected for most of my life with both. I spent several months investigating home mo...

If you do try kratom, buy a small amount of red vein Borneo kratom. If you get it I will give you hints and details on how to try it.

Re: Hello from TeriShelly

TeriShelly, sounds like you may be taking the pramipexole when your legs start jumping in the evening. If so, that may not be the best time. You are less likely to augment if you don't try to completely eliminate jumpy legs. Your goal should be to eliminate intolerable symptoms and learn to live wit...

Welcome TeriShelly. Don't worry, everyone here "gets it" and you will find lots of help, understanding and compassion here. Your med problems, exhaustion, depression, low energy, weakening immune system etc. all sound similar to what I and most others here have experienced. Most docs that ...

Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been taking Ultram, and Requip for approximately 4 years and have been at the maximum dose for quite some time, on the Requip. My augmentation has now become unbearable. My MD has asked that I begin Gabapentin and I tried it today for the first ti...

Re: Improved symptoms - what now?

Legs, I agree with Steve, i would stay on the 1mg patch and never increase it. The lowest doses of DA are less likely to induce augmentation and the 1mg patch may be helpful for a long time. If your symptoms worsen i would increase the oxy up to what your doc considers safe. Also remember that RLS s...
