I went to see another alleged RLS doctor. I found her name through the RLS website. She knew diddley about RLS. Apparently she had worked with a few other doctors in writing some sort of paper on RLS. The RLS organization saw that and included her name as a referral on their website. She never heard...

The apartment search is a dead end. Everything is far too expensive. I don't know how to drive so have to stay near public transportation. I also would not be able to pick up and move to another state far away all by myself. I don't even know any other place. Everywhere I turn I find myself between ...

I am the same way with certain sounds, screeching children being the worst. To my great dismay, they are building an 8000 sq. ft. outdoor playground for a pre-K and grade school right under my window. I tremble at the mere thought of it. In fact, the intense noise from the whole construction job (al...

What is a "sensory processing disorder?"

It sounds as though your trip was a mini-vacation as well. Good for you.

I can't stand shreiking children. All the children in my neighborhood shreik. That is how they communicate. It's like chalk on a blackboard to me.

Ann,

As trite as it sounds, I hope this visit is your answer. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

It helps to have a supportive husband.

I can't just walk in on this doctor. This is a large hospital, not a private doctor's office. Now I'm wondering if she ever intended to give me the opiates. She mentioned Dr. Earley had recommended two different ones, but made no move to prescribe them. I did send her a short email apologizing, but ...

I think so. When we first met, she didn't seem to have a problem prescribing opiates.

There are very few doctors in NYC who treat RLS. I've been looking for a year. I've asked my internist and every other doctor I see if they know anybody. Nobody does. I know it sounds strange, but that is how it is here. I was taking anti-depressants, which I stopped because I wanted to leave a clea...

This was her email: please note that I do not have uninterrupted access to e-mail and reply to calls and e-mails as soon as possible. I left a message on your phone this afternoon and will ask Yvette to prepare a copy of your records to be sent to your home so you could proceed as you wish. Best reg...

Dr. Earley suggested two opiates. I wanted to give a non-opiate another try before committing to the opiates. I guess this doctor spoiled me by answering all my emails. Then when she stopped, I thought something was wrong. I really don't know how to make it right with her again. After asking her to ...

Doctor-Honest Opinion

I have to find a new doctor for my RLS. I have been seeing this one doctor since May of this year. During that time, she prescribed two medications, each of which I took for a few days and had to stop. To begin with, she had me meet with an associate psychiatrist, which took weeks to get an appointm...

I got up from a 10 minute nap (that's about average for me) and my RLS is really acting up. That's what happens when I take one of those snoozes.

Zach,

I only took a veyr low dosage of Mirapex for five days and my RLS is worse. I got off it a few days ago, but am still suffering from the advanced symptoms.

I went to Johns Hopkins in July to see Dr. Earley. He is the head of their RLS unit. What are you going for? To get medication? Do you expect them to follow up with your doctor in your home town?

I would be interested in knowing how your appointment goes.

Sometimes I just crash in the afternoon from sheer exhaustion. I usually go to sleep about 4 pm and get up about 11 pm. If I can avoid it, I don't take naps because my RLS acts up when I get up. It doesn't do that when I get up from a "night's sleep."
