Re: New here, just diagnosed but not sure it really is RLS...
Hey all, I know several of you have already spent way too much of your time responding to my posts and concerns, but I would really love to hear your thoughts on my last post about the diagnosis and the treatment plan. Any insight is very much welcome. Mostly sounds reasonable. Only a couple of qui...

Thanks Holland! My ferritin level is 58. Do you think the oral iron will help? Well, that is in the maybe range. Iron is cheap and easy to try, so you definitely should take it for at least two months. 65mg iron (as 325mg Ferrous Sulfate) +500 mg vit C on empty stomach daily. Also, your doc will in...

Re: RLS remission - why?
Welcome to the RLS forum community Dr. Hoskme ! You will find, or have already found, that the members of this board represent a considerable body of knowledge, experience and compassion. RLS is notoriously fickle. For reasons that are unclear, consistent responses to medications or other treatments...

Re: New Member
Hi. I just joined this week. I've had RLS for a few years... He agreed and the results showed me to be in the "low/normal range." The doctor suggested I take 325 mg of iron per day. Has anyone gone this route, increased their iron level sufficiently enough to stop the Pramipexole? ... Hello wkpalle...

Re: Rotating Meds
I never tried rotating meds, but several who post on this board do, with varying success as I recall. I had my best results (prior to my iron infusions) with low doses of multiple meds. For you that might look like ropinirole 1/2 of a 0.25 mg tablet, continue clonazepam and Lyrica, add low doses of ...

Re: Cannabis
Thanks for the info. For me, the several strains I tried all seemed to work about the same, but none had very low CBD content. I don't remember any worsening urge to move symptoms with any of them, either inhaled or eaten.

Hi stathamiaura, Welcome to the RLS community. You will find lots of people with lots of experience with the problems, treatment, and difficulties that result from Restless Legs Syndrome. Plenty who get it as far as understanding how horrible life can get if you have severe RLS. I haven't heard of n...

Re: How should I taper of my 1 mg of ropinirole?
No need to taper. Just stop it. Higher doses are more of a problem for people with RLS. Since you probably don't have RLS, you shouldn't have any withdrawal problems from just stopping it.

Re: Experience with Injectafer?
Well, I am now about 6 months post Injectafer infusions. I got over the speed bumps of whooping cough and shingles. I continue with frequent colds, the downside of having a 3 year old and 4 year old grandson and granddaughter around frequently. RLS remains 95% controlled. I occasionally get a mild u...

Re: Very Tired
When I was on multiple meds at multiple times, I set out a day's dosing at a time. I tried to be very careful about skipping doses (usually caused poor sleep or jumpy legs) or extra doses (zombie like next day). I took particular care as I was well aware that some days my brain was so goofy that mis...

The IRLSSG guidelines for US are Injectafer 750mg then repeated 5-7days later (1500mg total).

Re: Is this really my new "normal"?
It has now been 4 days and I am very close to giving up and taking some of the pramipexole. I think I have slept maybe 5 hours in the last 48 hours. My GP is being very difficult about even reading the RLS literature, wants to refer me to a neuro before any other treatment options are considered, a...

Re: Doctors in Seattle?
Hi annski, Welcome to the RLS online community. Lots of great folks here to help out. I'm no where near Seattle, so I can't give you a doc's name. The DEA tracks a doctor's narcotic prescriptions and puts pressure in a number of ways on the doc or the doc's employer if the number of narcotic RXs get...

Re: Anyone ever been told trazadone caused their RLS?...
Trazadone can cause RLS symptoms because it has central antihistaminergic properties. All drugs who have such effects can cause and worsen RLS symptoms which is the reason why so many antidepressants are problematic for RLS patients and those who have a vulnerability to develop such symptoms. While...

Re: How long before I should worry about augmentation?...
Usually ropinirole works well and quickly for people with mild RLS. It can sometimes be used as a sort of diagnostic test, since nearly everybody with mild RLS gets good relief. The fact that you have only had slight relief suggests, as do your symptoms, that there is some other problem, not RLS. Ch...
