Hello, Ann:

Excellent observations. I have seen people with little or no sleep run the gamut from being irritable to psychosis. They no longer do sleep therapy because it is too cruel!!! However, they are again using electroshock therapy where they "fry" your brain three times a week and have to dope you so you...

status report, WHERE IS BECAT????

I have been quietly fighting my battle with mental health professionals, so I am leaving neurologists strictly alone. I have enough on my plate. Someone I know fairly well had General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) with some panic attacks interpersed with it. Over the weeks I watched her slipping into this ...

Mirapex, oh!

My two cents worth: As I mentioned in my 2nd thread, due to taking 300 mg Wellbutrin XL a day, which is also dopamine agonist, I cut back my dose of MX to 0.25 mg 3x daily. A total of 0.75 mg. Most of the dizziness went away. And paresthesia is mostly gone. I can even bicycle if I am careful. It is ...

Hello everybody!

Here is some good reading on the connection between dreams and depression. Here is the link: m Depression, Dreaming and Exhaustion: The New Link How your thoughts affect you physically? "Depressed people dream up to three times as much as non-depressed people." This is a startling, and illuminating ...

Hello, Sara:

I am late joining this discussion but better later than never. I voted No, because depression was not included and it is different from panic attack or anxiety. Still, my wife was diagnosed with GAD a few years back, and she had panick attacks but not as severe as described by some of you. When I wa...

Hi, Ann!

Very good point!!! Now if you recall that in ORP (our research project) our survey showed that only 9% suffered from fibromyalgia. This seems to be low until one also considers that only 15% of the surveyed had secondary RLS. So if we calculate how many of the secondary RLS patients suffered from fi...

Hello Squirmy!

Your post is quite interesting. What we found in our initial survey of 120 patients that none out of 120 named rheumatologists as the medical specialty responsible for the correct diagnosis. The specialty with the highest number was found to be neurology followed by sleep doctors. It looks like you ...

Hello, Anne:

That is more like it! I am glad the doctor realized they botched up the test and stood behind making it good. The tech may have fallen asleep (in that case they probably fired her). It's good thing you stood up for your rights. . I am curious what the frequency of the arousals (or near-arousals) was...

Update on medication

Well, I thought it is time to give an update. With traveling back and forth it was harder to keep on time with the medication. Only today I received Wellbutrin 300 extended release but I am still on WB-150 ext. release. Mirapex is also still at 1/2 tablet three times a day, a total of 0.75 mg. Since...

Hello, Jan:

I have not had a chance to find out much about Effexor. Transporting my daughter to the pain doctor, takes two nights and a day! with narcolepsy and all. Today I tried provigil! It did help driving. I am glad you found out what you needed. Is it worthwhile to share? You know I am always eager to lea...

Update

I just checked and the 94th person, male and of Hungarian descent, just completed the on-line survey from New Mexico. Once we reach 100, I will do an intermittent evaluation. It will be interesting to see how the results change with the number of participants! I want to thank all the particiants fo...

Change in Medication

To recall: Lately my medication was as follow: Mirapex 3x0.5 mg = 1.5 mg per day Remeron 1x30 mg once a day (evening) Hydrocodone (10 mg/650 mg) one a day I started to notice that I was having more pain than usual, usually starting in the afternoon. I also found that I had occasional narcolepsy whil...

Yes, Randy:

RLS one can have on its own but the majority of RLS patients will also have the leg moements. However, many people can be affected by PLMD and have no RLS (PLMD is much more frequent than RLS from a number of causes. Mirapex as a genuine dopamine agonist should have a [ositive effect on the crawly c...
