Thanks to each of you for your comments. I'm now on Week 3 of Pramipexole. @badnights My sleep specialist physician wants me to take the smallest dose that works and suggested that I start with 0.125 mg, then double the dose after 7 days, if necessary, up to 0.5 mg maximum. The 0.125 mg dose does he...

Pramipexole Effectiveness

I have been prescribed Pramipexole 0.125 mg and hour before bed to help me sleep better. I am sleeping better (more rested and less daytime sleepiness). I seem to have fewer restless leg episodes in the evening and those that occur are more manageable. Is this due to the pramipexole taken the night ...

@Wayne-- I understand about normal movement that is not caused by restless legs. What happens to me is that I frequently experience an urge to move my legs during the evening. If I focus on not moving, it is possible to keep my legs in position, but the urge to move because more insistent the longer...

I average about six hours per night with four awakenings. I'm hoping that the new medication (pramipexole 0.125 mg) will increase the hours of sleep and decrease awakenings. I consider my sleep to be somewhat restful and restorative, but I like to get a 30 min nap in the early afternoon when possibl...

Insomnia LPR (laryngopharyngeal reflux) At age 63, I consider myself lucky to be healthy. And, I am grateful that I am being treated for RLS. At evening concerts, I constantly had to shift my legs, which left me unable to fully enjoy the performance. At plays, I tried to get an aisle seat so I would...

Vicki, Like you, I'm a new member. I'm glad to read that you are getting some help for your RLS. I, too, had a low ferritin a year ago which made it worse, but found out that because I am a frequent blood donor, it lowered my ferritin level. So with low-dose iron supplementation and less frequent bl...

Greetings from the green, rainy Pacific Northwest U.S. I'm new to RLS and new to this forum. I'm 63 and was recently diagnosed with RLS by a physician specializing in sleep medicine. I've been taking Pramipexole 0.125 mg at bedtime for the past week. So far, so good. I've had RLS for many years base...
