Robin,
I started my efforts at finding an RLS solution with Minerals and Vitamins. I didn't have any outstanding results from anything....I tried most everything.

Just so that I am clear, did you find all the info you needed for CR on nutritiondata.org?

Robin, Yes, fitnessforoneandall was the article. Thanks for taking the research on it a bit further, I will check out the other info that you had listed. I have RLS every nite, so I am a good candidate for testing, as it is nearly always the same.....with the exception that it is worse when I am str...

Robin, thanks for your reply! About my Tyrosine use.....I take 500 mg at mid afternoon, later afternoon and before I go to bed. It has worked really well for me! It works for at least a few hours. I do not wake up again all night. I do know that without it, I would be up most of the night, or need t...

Thanks for sharing this info on CR. I have been thinking that inflammation is one possible contributor to RLS. If that is true, CR could be effective in lowering inflammation. I think I will try CR for awhile and see if lowering my calories will help. I have been succesful in lowering my symtoms wit...

no, but....

Rubyslipper,
I have not had this occur, although I do have occasional tingling when it seems that the circulation was cut off, but I wasn't aware of it.

I am hoping you get some simple answers.

a destressor for when you really need it!

I distract myself if it's a minor issue. Like with TV or books. I like a good adventure book. If I am really upset I cry, or best of all I find a quiet time where I won't bother anyone else with noise, and I beat up pillows and scream and cuss untill I get it all out. Feels good.

To the Nurse

I hope your research is going well. I have had RLS off and on for as long as I can remember, but it was never a real problem untill about 2 years ago. I was on Neuronton for a year, and it generally worked, but it made me gain weight, so I went on Mirapex. It makes me sick to my stomach - so i have ...

Does stress effect your rls symtoms?

I was wondering if other folks have extra problems with rls being severe on evenings/nights when you are stressed/worried/ etc? I have noticed that if I go to evening meetings (like city council mtgs!) or any other meetings where there is alot of stress/conflict etc involved that I just have a terrr...

I am taking some zinc too. Right now I am on a few too many supplements! and I am not yet sure which it is that is improving my rls. However, my Naturopath prescibed homeopathic Zinc to one of her rls patients, and she was completely healed! So it does work for some of us! thanks for sharing this! S...

Dopamine cycles - research found

Thanks for the conversation on Tyrosine. I have written how I am using Tyrosine with NADH, and a very small amount of Mirapex (.4mg) I am trying to find solutions without drug use. So far Tyrosine seems to be helping - however I have only been taking it for about 10 days and I will be more clear abo...

Sleep Diary

Hazel,
thanks for the idea for a sleep diary, to see if there is a pattern. I agree with the sense of panic. For me, if I get some relief then things seem (temporarily) to become difficult again, I do feel upset. If I found a pattern, then it would be easier to notice what is going on.

Nice to hear a few positive results

Thanks to those of you who have been trying the NADH and reporting some positive effects. It makes me happy to hear about anyone who is finding some relief. Since I wrote last I also found (in some science research type document) some info on tyrosine, which is an ammino acid (you may already know t...
