Yes, thanks so much for the info. I will go back to the Doc (my neurologist has supplied a list of possible meds for me and the Doc has this same list ) and hopefully she will try me on the next on the list to help me come off the Ropinirole. I had a not too bad night last night, my first in 10 days...

I average between 4 and 6 hours a night, every night. Always fragmented. Always. And I don't think I'm getting much of the deep sleep, I never wake feeling refreshed. I take Ropinirole, not really a sleeping aid but it does zone me out! Before I took Ropinirole I got 0 hours sleep. Every night, no e...

Well, looks like I gotta come off the Tramadol. Last night, awake from 1.20am after visited loo as usual, then the spasms/jerking started, and didn't stop. I'm a bit upset because otherwise the Tramodol does everything I want it to do. If it wasn't for these spasms, I would definately stay on it, an...

Hello again, just an update on my new experiences with Tramadol. Yes, it has stopped the RLS attack at 4 am, it has also had the added bonus of stopping the coughing attacks that I was experiencing every night, sometimes for an hour or so. That was an unexpected surprise. I do have insomnia, but I w...

thanks everyone, and yes, I am going to get some good nights before I reduce Ropinirole even further. Last night was a good start, I woke every hour but not because of RLS. I don't know why I kept waking, maybe anxiety/nervousness, I don't know. But the thing is I got back to sleep every single time...

Ropinirole and Tramodol

I am starting Tramodol tonight along with my Ropinirole (Requip). The Ropinirole was wearing off at 4am every morning and I don't want to increase the dose as I have reduced it to help the augmentation go away. I'm a bit nervous as I have built my hopes up for getting a better night's sleep, and als...

Chipmunk, what are the recommended levels for Vitamin D? I take vit D every night (1000mg) but I've only been doing that for approx 2 weeks now, because I read it on this Forum that it could be beneficial. I am seeing my Doctor this afternoon and I'll request a check, but she probably won't know the...

Polar Bear, my usual attacks are relentless. From 3 pm onwards I may as well be in a mental institution. The attacks I mentioned that lasted minutes were a total shock to me, I don't know what I did that day but I wish I did because I'd do it every day! No, my life is ruled by RLS, I have been awake...

Great that a guy is trying to understand you RLS! My partner and I now sleep in two separate rooms, I have very reluctantly accepted that. I figure that even if I don't sleep he might. But I always have a cuddle in the morning. It's so hard trying to still keep that bond .

Hi Pam, I live in the UK and I phoned to ask for a claim form for Disability Living Allowance, as it's called here. I didn't even get past the operator, as she said I would only qualify if I had difficulty walking! If only! I told her I couldn't take public transport of any kind, I cannot sleep with...

Sorry to sound so depressing, I actually do feel better after yesterday, I cling to days like that and wish they were more regular. I don't want to depress everyone here, there is such a positive feeling to this Forum. It is a godsend to 'talk' to people that really know how I feel, and the advice i...

Hi thanks for taking the time to read my post and to reply. Yes, I do have augmentation, and I reduced my Ropinirole (Requip) from 3mg per night to 2 mg. I did this gradually and it was a horrendous process. I did it without help from any other medication, and I read on these boards that Opiates can...
