Yeah, me neither. About 50% of people have no problems stopping it. The rest of us have from minor to major problems. The docs don't really acknowledge this. Because of the war on drugs, we have to go through all kinds of ^$%# to get opioids, but boy, we sure can get benzos! At one point, I had tema...

It does come in wafers that can be cut up more easily, but my doctor wrote out the script wrong, and I didn't want to deal with it. You can also have your pharmacist make a suspension liquid of it (I didn't try that) and the administer is by cc's, or you can start cutting them into little, itty, bit...

Laura, I had nightmarish experience with K, but not like mich! I can tell you what I learned about withdrawal, hopefully this will help. If you have been taking a benzo for a month or less, you can probably stop quickly without problems. To ensure you don't, talk to your doctor just in case. Few peo...

I sure don't know a lot, but here's what I think I know . When we have RLS, a ferritin level of less than 50 is considered low. So, even though yours is 38, which might be fine with someone who doesn't have RLS, it is low. It could be that the prior tests either didn't test for this, or that no one ...

Penguin, that must be so frustrating, though. It is great that they are listening (and how horrible if they weren't???), but you (and Jannie, too), have really had a tough time finding something that really works. I know how hard it is to "just" have the creepy feelings for days on end, but pain tha...

Keep it up everyone! These are great. We need Randy to hop over here, too. He has an interesting sense of humor! I'll compile them all together and send them to Dr B early next week.

Hey Smikette, welcome to the group. You know, you are absolutely right. All these other things going on? They absolutely can make RLS much worse. Hormones? yep! Drugs for depression? yep! Stress? yep! Even the foods we eat and the beverages we consume can make RLS worse. The good news is that you ma...

Hi Nini, Are you in the US, Europe, or Australia? If so, each of those areas has a "local" support group. They could really help you with a lot. Also, in this section there are two "sticky" posts. The first one will answer many of your questions. The second one had many links to other sites that can...

Willy, quinine is one of those things that doctors used to think would help. It sort of makes sense, as quinine helps leg cramps. But only a small amount of people find it does help, I think one RLS expert says 5%. Have you done much research yet? If you are sort of new to RLS and possible treatment...

For those with neuropathy and no known cause

I was on the celiac forum this morning and found this post about neuropathy. Celiac disease can present with over 200 symptoms, and some people have no symptoms. But it interested me that a lot of people have neurological symptoms that could be thought to be RLS or diabetes or some other cause, yet ...

Ray, that is really important. Can you imagine being in a psych ward, for example, and having them strap your arms or legs??!!!! How horrible. Thanks for sharing that with us. I think I'll have a chat with my DH tonight.

Hi Mylo, glad to "see" you again. It's easy to get away from the group, but know that you are always welcome when you need us. We'll be here. So sorry to hear that the RLS is creeping around again. I always dread that and get so agitated when it starts. Are you taking the Sinemet daily, or only as n...

OK, more info. It will be sold through Amazon, the RLS Foundation, and likely other places such as through its sponsor, the American Academy of Neurology. It actually has some info that is specific to Europe. The title is quite catchy. . . . Restless Legs Syndrome So, we really need a subtitle here!...

I have been trying to reduce the amount of meds I'm taking, so I've been testing some alternative therapies to see if anything helps. So far, I can definitely say the a B complex and 2 magnesium tablets right when I go to bed allow me to take less drugs (not much less, but enough to keep me happy). ...
