Re: surgery affecting RLS?

Every time I have had surgery, knees, hips, and back, my RLS increased. It takes a few weeks to go back to where you were.

That's what I have, the generic buprenorphine films. No problem getting it.

Re: What Comes After Methadone?

I get the films for buprenorphine. I didn't have any troubles getting it. That way I can cut it easily.

Re: Gabapentin Withdrawal

I take 1800 mg of gabapentin. I've taken it for years. Over time I got adjusted to taking it.
Cut them in half and stay on that dose before going down, for several days, or more. You might want to check with the Dr to see how long.

Re: Doses for Buprenorphine

I don't have an advantage plan. I have the medicare plan F, plus a drug plan. Mine cost $20 last time, for 23, 2mg strips.

Re: Doses for Buprenorphine

Buspar is for anxiety. I doubt it would help RLS.
Belbuca is another name for buprenorphine. I have to be drug tested at my pain clinic and so does my husband, who goes to a different pain clinic. It's a law in our state.
Good luck

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

Thanks for your response. I have tiny scissors that I use to cut it in half. So far it's working out. My RLS is gone and I'm sleeping. 9+ hours a night.

Re: Doses for Buprenorphine

I also want to add, that I used to take 15mg of methadone. That's the same as 2mg of buprenorphine.
I decided to just leave the times alone. I wrote the other post when I was taking less.
I now take 1 mg at 2pm and 1 mg at 5pm. It's working.
I'm sleeping with no RLS. 9 hours

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

I've had to increase the buprenorphine. I'm now up to 2 mg. I was still taking it at 2 pm and just after 5pm. I kept increasing because I keep getting RLS. The Dr wanted me to start stretching exercises and that's when my RLS got worse. Is it the kind of med that your body keeps wanting more ? That'...

Re: Methadone

My nausea lasted a couple of months with Methadone, but then that was all. Glad it's working for you. I took it for 9 years. I've switched to buprenorphine because NM Dr's won't prescribe Methadone. I also found out this week that buprenorphine is better for older people, from my Doctor. I'm 72.

Re: Methadone side effects

I had nausea for about 2 months and then it went away. I took methadone for about 9 years. I currently take buprenorphine because NM Doctors won't prescrib methadone. I had the same issue with the buprenorphine, nausea. It didn't last as long but I also started on a smaller amount. Then I increased ...

Re: What Comes After Methadone?

I'm currently taking methadone. It helped me get past a bad augmentation experience from Pramipexole, and has worked fairly well the past couple of years. Now I'm facing a move from Virginia to Arizona in a couple months and, looking ahead, I'm finding it impossible to find an AZ doctor interested ...

Re: What Comes After Methadone?

My side effects usually only last a month or so, sometimes less. I took methadone and now take buprenorphine because I can't get methadone in NM.
Good luck

Re: ER opiates (oxy) vs methadone

I can't take Oxycodone for any length of time. I took methadone for about 9 years. 10 to 15 mg divided into two doses. I no longer take it because I can't get it in NM. It worked fairly well. Divided does was to prevent insomnia. I now take buprenorphine. In some ways I think it's better. I get 2 mg...
