I am very interested in this. I have some questions, of course Do you also take anything else for your RLS, or just this? How severe was your RLS when you started taking this? What other meds have you tried and how did they work? I know it is a lot of questions, and I hope you won't mind answering t...

menosta, I've seen people take Requip at lots of different times. Some people say they get best results if they take small doses throughout the day, maybe three times a day. Does it bother you every day? If not, the doctors like to use Sinemet. It works well if you only need it on special occasions,...

Hi cute_Funny. Glad you posted for everyone to see, and sorry that no one has replied yet. I know I can't say if it is RLS or not. In a way, it seems like a simple disease, but all of us experience is slightly different. The best I can say is to answer the following questions and see what you come u...

Thanks for keeping in touch. You have all my empathy - I was so miserable when I was going through a similar situation. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I think it was about 8 days after completely stopping the Mirapex when I suddenly felt much better. It was about 3 weeks before the RLS had stabiliz...

Not sure I can make it more clear, but I will try. These all tie together, but some background information is needed, I think, to be able to make the links. The very short answer is that Requip increases dopamine. Dopamine is needed to prevent movement and balance problems such as RLS and Parkinson'...

Hi, welcome to the board. Just as an FYI, there are probably more things about Mirapex and Requip in the Pharma section, so it might be worthwhile to read some of the posts there. This seems like a good place to start: m This post has the best information I know of (in one place) about treating RLS ...

Joann, this really sounds like augmentation to me. Of course, just my opinion, but it's important to learn as much about this as you can, as your doctor may not know as much as he/she should. Please read the following: General info about the drugs we take - important to know m A definition of augmen...

I've not heard of this Parkinson's drug being used for RLS. I don't think it is a dopamine agonist, so am not sure how it might help. Hmm, I just looked it up onine and it is an anticholinergic and used to control movement. I couldn't find any references to using this for RLS, but that isn't the be ...

Many people with spinal injury or surgery find themselved with RLS, either for the first time, or worse than they had before. It would make sense that a GOOD manipulation might resolve whatever is causing the problem. But, the problem for most of us is how do you know whether the person is skilled o...

I'll add to that. It is ONLY caused by dopamine agonists. And, this is the only known medical condition where a medication causes this situation. Doctors/nurses/medical personnel without extensive RLS knowledge will have NO idea of what augmentation means, either, as it is not a general medical term...

Just one more thing....I happen to LIKE WAM's jokes! Hmmm, have you stumbled on the breast augmentation post, yet? I'm actually sort of surprised. I would think that a man would want other things augmented and not his breasts. . . In case you're interested, WAM, I do get emails all the time about t...

If we were going to ban you, WAM, if would be for tasteless jokes, and not your honest feelings about people who don't get it . In one of my career incarnations, I developed training materials for companies. The one thing that just can't be tackled easily is attitude. And all of this is about attitu...

Hi Pam, Welcome. I know that the board isn't very self-explanatory, but you got this posted so it worked. Special populations deals primarily with pregnancy, kidney failure, kids with RLS, etc. Since you are probably not in any of those situations, maybe your post would be better in the New to RLS o...

I don't know how many Ultram users we have here. I know that the Yahoo Cyberspace RLS board has quite a few. If no one here answers, it might be worth trying there. Another option is to ask Dr Buchfurer on the www.rlshelp.org site. You can search through his posts for the word Ultram or tramadol and...
