Re: Lonliness

Speaking of glasses ... (go bold or go home is my motto). 8) And definitely go for the streak! We have to take our fun where we can find it.

Re: Muscle Relaxants

More on muscle relaxants: I also tried using cyclobenzaprine, which had far fewer side effects for me, but was ultimately ineffective. You'll want to keep in mind that muscle relaxants are a neurological drug, so you might experience withdrawal symptoms if you stay on them for too long and then try ...

Re: Muscle Relaxants

I am a hard core user of rollers, massage sticks, lacrosse balls, and tennis balls. I am one big mass of trigger points, and each device offers a different way to get at them. It isn't unusual for any of these items to hurt the first time you use them. Go slow, and only apply as much pressure as you...

Re: Cannibis Dosage and Timing

Pretty much, yawny. We shall see where this all leads me now. Even achieving a less disruptive, broken sleep would be a big bonus at this point in time. I look forward to being a 63 year old pothead!

Re: Cannibis Dosage and Timing

Phewph!!! I've just finished going through the entire medical marijuana discussion chain to see what is being said about what works and what doesn't. Here is a summary of the results: -- Everyone who tried MM has had positive results, but often only after a great deal of experimentation. "Resul...

Re: Muscle Relaxants

I also have extremely tight muscles, and have often wondered whether this is a side effect of them getting very little rest during sleep. I can feel my RLS symptoms originating in particularly tight areas. I tried Baclofen to see if relaxing my muscles would help in reducing my RLS symptoms. It didn...

Re: Lonliness

I think that depression often goes hand-in-hand with this disease, and that depression can lead to loneliness by isolating us from others. Here are some of my coping mechanisms: 1. Joining group activities that help me form and maintain social networks, while also having some side benefit for manage...

Re: Logging symptoms

Hey Deedle -- have you considered whether you're augmenting? I used to experience the symptoms that you describe as Level 2 and Level 3, until I came off of all dopamine agonists. Now I will occasionally have a bit of bicycling, but none of the "Level 3". Just a thought....

Scratch and Carry Technique

I just finished reading a back issue of Nightwalkers, in which a physician with RLS describes a technique that he uses to calm his legs called "Scratch and Carry" (developed for patients with complex regional pain syndrome.) You create friction on the sole of the foot by rubbing the bare f...

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs

Although I like the convenience of the VenaPro portable system, I will likely upgrade to the more expensive set which has has the detached pump which plugs into the wall (the VenaFlow system). The VenaPro portable system is only intended for temporary use, and the battery life is only 100 hours. I'm...

Re: Cannibis Dosage and Timing

Thanks for the info, Rustsmith. It sounds like you and I are a lot alike. I augmented into Hurricane 4 status, which we managed to bring down to Hurricane 3 after a washout. All I can take now are opioids, which only partially deal with my symptoms. I struggle with depression. I continue to investig...

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs

Any sensation I might have while using the pumps is gone as soon as I take them off, and my lower legs will then usually be still for the rest of the night. If I need to quiet my legs before using the pumps, all I do is to take a bath or hot shower. I sensed the last time I talked to the distributor...

Cannibis Dosage and Timing

I've just received approval for the use of medical marijuana. The dispensary has recommended that I use an oil product high in CBD. My questions to RLS users out there are: 1. What is the most effective ratio of CBD to THC? (I have seen the suggestion 85% CBD to THC, but I can also buy a product tha...

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs

Reporting back in, after many months .... The washout didn't work (bummer), but the pneumatic leg pumps seem to be effective. I have RLS symptoms in upper and lower legs and my left shoulder; using the pneumatic leg pumps seems to have quietened my RLS symptoms in my lower legs. I use the VenaPro po...

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs

I have had a similar reaction to even simple massage given during a pedicure, where the pedicure is done later in the day. Now that I think more about it, I usually try and get my pedicures in the morning or early afternoon for that reason. It's like "Don't touch the legs, don't touch the legs!...
