You are so right, Zach. I have a cousin who's a (recent) recovering addict & he says it's easier these days to get street drugs than opiates. Go figure.

Thank you so much for all your responses... I really appreciate all the time you took and the helpful insights! I guess I've concluded there's no warring against the war on drugs (esp here in my conservative Ohio suburb). I know I could complain, etc, but live in such a small community all you get i...

Pain management rights??

Happy Monday everyone-- I thought I'd draw upon the vast collective knowledge of this board and ask--DO THESE EXIST? And if so how do you flex enough legal muscle to an arrogant MD to enlighten them that you mean business? Last week, my mom had bone/nerve resection surgery in her arm. Her surgeon pr...

I took Avelox over the summer and man did it freak out my legs. Taken many other antibiotics in my life and that was the only one affecting my RLS.

I think you should go for it, Zach. You're good at sharing complicated info in a very readable way. As RLS gains attention (and dare I say respect) you should have a growing audience.

oh, i neglected to mention that when i took ponstel for the first time i realized i had no hip pain or back pain either, which is never the case unless i take narcotics. so for me, it really wipes out the pain shockingly well.

that's exactly what i'm taking it for. (same as susan). for me it works much better than 800 mg/ ibuprofen--i'm astounded i hadn't heard of it until recently. hopefully this is only short-term b/c i should be having surgery soon. anyway not a lot of good painkiller options-- harm your stomach & ...

Wonderful discovery

Hi everyone-- Maybe I'm living under a rock but until recently had never used/heard of a drug called Ponstel (NSAid). I have a non-RLS, painful condition and this is the best non-narcotic drug I have ever used. If anyone is unsuccessfully trying to treat pain I recommend asking your dr. about this. ...

Thank you!

Just wanted to give a general thank you to all the wonderful people on this board. Cyberspace cracks me up--I visit a twin parents' board and it is very cliquey. Unless you're a daily poster fuggetaboutit; no one responds to your inquiries. I'd rather have a life than post 50 times a day about homem...

I used to find that stuff a little hoky but here in Ohio we have a renowned healer, Dr. Nemeh. My mom's cardiac damage was completely healed after she saw him. Her cardiologist was in shock. I don't understand it, but personally I'm open to anything.

Aiken, I'm glad you started this firestorm. I agree, the name is one of our biggest (if not THE biggest) problems. After reading this I personally will refer to it as Eckbom when discussing with any MDs. A high-profile spokesperson might help. Jon Stewart is another RLS sufferer but who knows if he'...

I always find that more stress = more RLS. The most peaceful, spiritual, prayerful months of my life were the 'best' for my RLS.

But gee, it's hard to 'get rid of stress' when you're already completely overwhelmed and miserable. Good luck to you --I'm sorry you're suffering.

I love it--good rant, tazzer. I never gave that much thought. I mean ED is taken oh-so-seriously for God's sake. And look at the silly commercials for Requip and Mirapex. Hearing possible side effects of 'excessive gambling' doesn't help our cause much. You are so right. I wonder what Dr. B. would s...
