Re: Introducing myself

Enigmaman - you haven't mentioned the overpowering urge to get up and walk in order to try and ease horrible sensations. This is a major characteristic of RLS. You mention leg jumping and tensing but no sensations...... And you say that your symptoms do not prevent sleep. RLS sensations would defini...

Re: Introducing Myself

Welcome Bill - Your PCP has said that your iron numbers are in mid range but he possibly talking about your general blood work. What we, as RLS sufferers, need is a Ferritin Serum level of around 100. Someone without RLS will be ok with a reading of around 20. This is the iron storage in the brain a...

Re: Thanks for the add Rustsmith

The above extract of Dr Mark Buchfuhrer is very useful to have.... confirmation that he considers DAs should be lower than previously advised.

Re: Introducing myself

Enigmaman - many sufferers find that there are food triggers, often caffeine, alcohol, nicotime, sugar. These are the more common triggers although they don't act as a trigger to everyone. We are all very different in our responses to foods and indeed to medication. I would support Steve's advice to...

Re: Another dumb pharmacy trip

I know it's not actually funny. It just struck me as funny because grinning makes a person seem "gamey" and even more guilty, when in fact I have nothing to feel guilty over.

Hmmmm... funny peculiar - as opposed to funny ha-ha

Re: Progress with my local doctor?

Steve I agree absolutely. I am very organised and thorough, see things through to the end. Hate it if a job is done (by someone) in a half hearted fashion. It frustrates me totally to not have answers, in particular to have seen a neurologist who couldn't have given two tuppenny damns about my sympt...

Re: Thanks for the add Rustsmith

He is a Sleep and RLS Specialist and is heavily involved in the treatment of this condition. I am in a rush just now and don't have the contact details just at the moment but I'm...
