Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

What then is your withdrawal plan? Will you taper? By how much how fast? Beth, The withdrawal plan ??? Well, I guess as I was overprescribed and have been reduced by 1mg down to 4mg daily, it has kind of started. I should see GP in a month and take it from there. My understanding is that as the Rop...

Re: News on Opioids crisis and impact on patients

Federal officials have said the CDC guidelines weren’t intended to disrupt the proper prescribing and use of opioids. “We’re not telling any doctor that they can’t make a legitimate prescription,” then-U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Fox News, in an interview before he left office. “Maybe ...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Thank you Holland, are you saying that no matter what our ferritin level is, we are still uncertain of how much iron reaches our brain.

A little funny .... My autocorrect replaced 'Ferritin ' with 'terrorism'. Not entirely inappropriate, Sometimes it feels like our own personal terror.

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

The present gabapentin dose of 75mg x 2 is the starting dose. GP says it can go waaaay up. I don't have a follow up GP appointment, I ring the medical practice and make an appointment, or ask for a call back telephone appt, to confirm how it's going and up the gabapentin. If it is too difficult in t...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

I have had a visit with my GP regarding my poorly controlled RLS symptoms, they were never superbly controlled but are even less well controlled since I dropped the Tramadol ER 3 months ago. This was at the instigation of another doctor in the practice who doesn’t like Tramadol. Presently I take Rop...

Re: where is everyone?

Thanks folks, I'm more or less ok. Just a bit sore now on hips and knees but that is an ongoing issue anyways. To add to the mix, my husband got a short notice hospital call offering him a cancelled appointment to go in the next day to have his gall bladder removed. Here in the UK that is an opportu...

Re: where is everyone?

I think it is he holiday season that affects traffic, people are busy with other things.. It is generally also quieter on a weekend. And of course, things happen. For instance.... one month ago we had builders in. Part of the work was taking out a bath and replacing it with a walk in shower. New cei...

Re: What else should I be trying? I'm at a loss.

You say that one year ago your iron levels were normal. Please bear in mind that it is not ordinary iron levels that we are talking about (post of stjohnh). It is your ferritin serum iron levels that are vitally important, this test isn't usually done in normal blood works, please ask for this ferri...

Re: Specialist to see?

It might be worth making a trip to Boston where there is a Quality Care Centre, I have no idea how insurance works/or not in this case, cross border.

Perhaps others know of a Specialist in Toronto.

Re: A History of RLS

What a wonderful story and yet such a sad story. You lost so many years to RLS having to struggle constantly.
And then one year ago..... you found a solution that works for you.
So many what ifs ??
