Re: TRAZODONE

I read this article saying that Trazodone was seen to help with insomnia for the first two weeks of treatment but it hasn't been checked for the treatment of chronic insomia, i.e. in the long term. Several side effects to be aware of. https://www.consumerreports.org/insomnia/trazodone-for-insomnia-s...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

Oh !! what happy happy joy indeed !! 7 hours sleep. I know that I haven't slept longer than 2 hours at a time, often had no sleep, and never had more that 5 hours fragmented sleep in at least 21 years. I can accurately date at least that far back in my sleep pattern because of a particular event. In...

 Yankiwi - That's actually a nice idea, and write to the Practice as opposed to directly to Dr D.

A doctor knew about Ferritin !!

Yesterday I had a GP appointment. I felt that a medication prescribed for blood pressure was giving an unwanted side effect and I was asking for a change of medication. Didn't need to see any particular doctor in the practice. We are able to make our appointments on line. Dr D was the only doctor wi...

Now that you are back on track I hope it doesn't take long until all is as good as it can be.

If nothing else, you have discovered how it is without using your TENS.

suttmes69xx ----- I note you take Sinemet, just be aware that Sinemet is a drug that is very often the cause of augmentation in RLS especially if taken on a regular basis. Augmentation is a phenomenon in which the medication leads to a worsening of symptoms beyond the level of severity that was expe...

Re: RLS, Depression and Anti-depressants

Perhaps allow yourself a specific time span to try the ADs and see if they help. Say 3 months. Though it is possible that it might take longer than 3 months if there was a need to try a different AD, or to adjust dosages. If this is my life: no sleep, chronic pain, depression and anxiety, unable to ...

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and RLS (WED)

I have at times over the years, had spells when there was burning on my feet. That just disappeared a few years ago. Nowadays I have times when there is a burning sensation on my lower legs usually just before the RLS symptoms break through.

mutsy67 - I'm not convinced that the amitryptiline does much to help me sleep either but it is also considered to be helpful for fibromyalgia.

The opiate that you take for small fibre neuropathy should also be helpful with your RLS symptoms.

Re: What med cocktail works for you??

For RLS I take Ropinerole 4mg which is spread over the 24 hour period (yes 4mg is much too high, I started on it when 4mg was an acceptable daily dosage). Also Tramadol ER 50mg x 2 daily Also Cocodamol 30/500 x 4 daily. Note: I also take Citalopram 10mgs mornings and Amitryptiline 50mg at night (for...
