Re: my meds never work

I do think the RLS/WED meds made my RLS worse overall ie not just a temporary augmentation thing which is why I've decided not to do them anymore. I started tracking when the WED got worse and it's clearly when I started taking medication. When I got on the meds full time, which for me was gabapenti...

Re: my meds never work

Do you think for some the drugs progress the RLS/WED or it's just a temporary escalation? I have wondered, in the past, if the drugs, for some of course, make the RLS/WED symptoms permanently worse.

Re: my meds never work

Have I tried tramadol? No. Went to doctor today and he wants me to increase the clonazepam as he stated there would not be the same effects as getting off the other meds, but I'm not so sure. I could probably still get a prescription for Tramadol since I'm working with multiple doctors here. And non...

Re: zen meditation

Do you think there is something to this histamine issue? I've done a little reading on it and it states something about a diet to get the excess histamine out of your system.

Re: my meds never work

I would definately be open to meds if they could work. I still have some mirapex and could try cutting the half in half. Perhaps I can get used to it where I don't get ill. Thanks for the recommendation. Too bad there isn't a drug that people can take for this that works indefinately.....

Re: zen meditation

I know the naturalpath I was working with and will be going back to was working with supplements that helped regulate the signals in the brain, I think it was hypothalmax. From what I heard, this guy does wonders, when I was working with him I got between 6-8 hours of sleep EVERY NIGHT!!!! I had to ...

Re: Average Hours of Sleep per Night

My eyes feel different, I'm less anxious and I have very few headaches when I get 5 hours a night or more. But I can still have energy with 2 hours a night, depending how long that goes on.

Re: zen meditation

Interesting. Would this have anything to do with the allergens in the air?

Re: my meds never work

I'm taking a lot of supplements and that seems to help some. Last night was a little better with sleep- 4 hours-and I didn't take a damn thing. Just good diet, no grain, sugar or caffiene or excitoxins. In the past, I tried the mirapex and I was up all night vomiting from it. Doc told me to cut it i...

my meds never work

I've been on Ledopa (simment), gabapentin, clonozepam, vicodin with gabapentin, and requip. All of the meds work no longer than 2 months if I take it on a regular basis. If I take it sporadically it works for about 4 months. Using requip sporadically worked only 6 days. I'm very concerned about keep...

Re: Average Hours of Sleep per Night

My sleep goes in phases. Sometimes I can get up to 8 hours a night only awaking 2 or 3 times and sometimes I get 1 hour a night. For the past 2 weeks, I've been averaging around 3-4 hours a night. Week before that it was a solid 2 hours a night. All with sporatic medication since it never seems to w...

Re: The tens units

I had a physical therapist try the TENS unit on me and it worked for a little while. How do you know what points to use? I know the points on the neck helped me.

Re: zen meditation

Since I last wrote, I started working with a naturalpath with this and it helped, until I couldn't afford to see him anymore. Now the RLS has come back in a weird way. It's like the symptoms are not as bad as last summer, but it keeps me awake more so it's like it's there on a low level at all times...

good update

I'm happy to report that I finally figured out what was making the RLS so unbearable. The revelation came at the grocery store when looking up some bach flower remedies that a friend of mine (who is a psychic for a living) suggested. I knew they wouldn't work, but figured I would give it a shot anyw...

It worked for the weekend, but I had a bad night last night after doing the meditation. I did do the walking mindfulness, using a stepper and I thought it was helpful. To night I'm going to get up and do the walking and/or movement meditation. I do think meditation helps overall. But what REALLY sca...
