Mia, At some point in you life you will probably have to take some med every day. I have to take blood pressure meds twice daily, also thyroid, diabetic med twice daily and then I take Ultram for my rls daily. For me I feel that taking a daily med for rls is nothing more than taking the other meds, ...

softtail, have you ever heard of a drug holiday? On another rls message board there is a lady that Dr B (www.rlshelp.org) has instructed to switch from mirapex to requip when it stops working for her. He calls it a drug holiday, she will then stop mirapex and start requip for awhile and then can go ...

As I stated in another thread on this site. 30 yrs ago I would have ordered the oil immediately, because back then not many Drs knew much at all about rls, and I suffered nightly from it. But after YEARS of trying every thing that came along and never finding any relief for my rls. NOW when I read s...

Why "Cold Turkey"
Why are you going "cold turkey" ? I would think you would have to taper off this med. Can you not stand just by taking 1/4 less than you were for a couple days, and then go down more and more, it of course would take alot longer to get off. The trama you are putting your body thru by going...

Glad to hear that benadryl works for you, but I have to warn other new rlsers to be very careful using this otc med. As others have said it usually drives most of us nuts. I took ONE tylenol pm several yrs ago and I have never had rls as bad as I had that night, its was horrid! I could not sit down ...

Mia, I have never taken this med, so maybe should not comment. But if it were me, I would not just quit cold turkey. I would start cutting back each night just a little at a time. That way your system will adjust to less meds and hopefully, that will prevent the horrid problems you had. Have you don...

rlsgirl, have you ever tried Ultram(tramadol) its a non narcotic pain med. I had taken hydrocodone for about 5 yrs when I heard about tramadol and ask my Dr if I could try it. IF I take it before the rls kicks in, it works very good for my rls, but if I wait till the rls kicks in, then I end up taki...
