I think your fear is perfectly justified. First of all, it involves the whole experimentation process again, and trying new AD's can cause some really crummy start up side effects. I also subscribe to depressionforums.org, which has different sections on different ADs and also a forum for others suf...

Weird how we're all so different! Sometimes I think there's a part of my brain missing that connects the substance to the effects of quitting the substance, if that makes any sense. You are fortunate that part of your brain might be missing - ha! Anyway, my neurologist says it's okay to stay at .75...

Ctravel, I don't blame you for not wanting any change when you are going on a trip. As fun as trips can be, they are also stressful to our systems, which are so reliant on us being "consistent". I'm sorry to hear that Mirapex isn't working for you consistently. Some of the advice coming ou...

I'd have to agree with Views, in that I too was diagnosed with both, after watching how much limb movement, arousals, awakenings, etc. I had during my sleep study. I really would have to disagree with that statement and I bet hundreds of doctors would as well.

What happened to the days when you woke up, still felt sleepy and could blissfully go back to sleep? Charlene, you've been so encouraging with me through this "Clonazepam" process (ugh). .75 seems to be the lowest I can go right now to get any sleep, along with 1.5 Mirapex at night. I wish...

Yes, anxiety is a totally debilitating condition, and unfortunately so much of what we need to take to alleviate it, exacerbates or worsens the RLS. I take Cymbalta and I'm sure it doesn't help the situation, but the anxiety would be worse than the RLS and the RLS would flare up with the anxiety any...

Thank you Charlene, I'm just amazed by the advice some doctors give. My Psychiatrist told me to just immediately drop down to .5 and then come off of it completely, giving it a about a week at each amount. My neurologist said to also just drop to .5 immediately and I just decided on my own to go to ...

Well, I tried going to .5 Clonazepam last night and really had a bad night, so I gave in and took another 1/4 tablet. I have a call in to find out if I can stay at .75 because it does help me get restful sleep and at that level I'm not sleepy during the day. I don't really know the overall goal here...

There have been a couple times when I've experiences utter calmness in my legs, though, and it's a nice feeling. Hi Susan! This is exactly what I'm talking about. It CAN happen because like you, I experienced this when first taking Mirapex and it was wonderful. I actually tried to think myself into...

Views, What interesting ideas. It's funny that you go to the computer for RLS relief. At the computer, my RLS gets riled up, since getting on the computer is exciting to me (however geeky that is). The laptop forces me to remain still since I use it on my lap. My point being that I have made myself ...

Charlene, Are you going to talk to your doctor about this worsening in both legs? That really stinks, and I'm sorry to hear it. I'm with you in that I'm also now at .75 of the Clonazepam. Last night is the first night I really slept at that dosage (only woke once, which I consider a good night). I'm...

"Managing" RLS vs. "stopping" RLS sympto

Does managing my RLS/PLMD through meds. and lifestyle changes mean that I should expect the symptoms to completely go away? I'm sure that sounds like a ridiculous question, BUT here's the crux of my problem. My daytime RLS/PLMD had gone away and has returned. We've talked about this in other posts (...

Jumpy,

Interesting speculation and a good theory at that. I wish it would cause the fat to come off my thighs (while I'm moving so much)-ha! In sincerity, I'm sure your muscles do tire, as they would in any prolonged movement, which in turn causes soreness.

Sincerely,

Maddie

HiKicks, How great! It will be interesting to see your results. Since Budeprion is one of the few antidepressants they say doesn't exacerbate RLS, it's still great to see it verified in "real-life." I had to look it up and be reminded that this is better known (or commercially sold) as Wel...

Thank you Aiken. One of my biggest fears is that it will disrupt my sleep (to go off Klonopin). Ambien, Lunesta, etc. do not work well for me. As you can see, it's doing that as I write-ha! There have been some positives. I notice as I decrease, my daytime energy level is higher and I'm more motivat...
