I've often thought if I could stay still long enough maybe it would reach a peak and die off again. Can't do it though! I can do it. Maybe I don't have RLS as severely as others or maybe the medications are doing enough to let me ignore it. I can sit still for extended periods with only an occasion...

What dose were you on and how long were you on it. I'm sorry PB I don't remember the precise details or dosage. It was a very long time ago for me (28 yrs) I believe the steroid was prescribed to help build my strength, energy and appetite, and had nothing to do with killing cancer cells. I was on ...

I chipped a tooth on a Dorito. Luckily it didn't expose a nerve. Did freak me out though since that has never happened to me before. I have felt your pain on the teeth. I have two implants in my lower jaw holding a three tooth bridge. That was a long 6 months between the oral surgery and when the br...

I took Lyrica for a week and my experience was somewhat different. I didn't get any drowsiness at all (not even good for a sleeping pill) It did absolutely nothing for the RLS, in fact, the RLS seem to intensify, making me a nervous wreck. After a week I stopped it and notified my neuro, he had me r...

Wayne-- Glad you have something that works for you. If you're comfortable with your one-a-day schedule, I wouldn't expect you to develop a significant tolerance. Xanax comes and goes the quickest of all of the benzos, so with one dose a day you're probably avoiding the extended/continuous exposure ...

I'm like Zach. If I tell people at all, I tell them I have a neurological disorder in the leg nerves, that it disrupts my sleep and leave it at that. I only go into details if they ask. You won't get much sympathy if at all from casual acquaintances. That's reserved for those scary fatal conditions ...

So on my left side, I wrap my right leg over my left, and tuck my left foot under my right knee, pressing my toes into a point. I usually wedge a small pillow under my right knee. Then I twist my left leg (outstretched) around, so although my knee is on its side, the top of my foot is mushed into t...

Restrained? What do you mean by restrained, were you strapped into the bed? That's sounds awful if that's the case. I've had two studies, the wires are annoying but they could be connected to a portable device that you can carry with you. At least this was how it was for me. All I had to do was summ...

Was the neurologist helpful? I am seeing a GP and wondering if i should be under the care of Neurologist. Yes. Your experience may be different though. I'd research the Neuro and find out if they have any experience treating RLS and if they are willing and licensed to prescribe medications up to th...

Hello. Been a while for me. Saw my neurologist today. Will now be trying Lyrica, and stopping the gabapentin. I've read here that Lyrica seems to be the next drug when gabapentin is not or no longer effective. Be glad to be off it as it seems to have little effect anymore, and the side effects are b...

Wayne - when you mention having had chemo as a teenager it kinda puts a bit of weight gain into perspective. Trust you are now well. I am thank you. I would do another round of chemo if it was discovered to cure RLS! But that's what steroids do, they build/bulk you up and give you energy, which is ...

I took prednistone for about 6 weeks when I started chemo (this was almost 30 yrs ago when I was a teenager). I experienced all the symptoms that you describe. The weight gain and appetite increase was a good thing for me, because prior to my chemo treatments I had lost about 35-40 pounds, I was way...
