Movies, anyone?

Not that all of us can watch them unless meds have the RLS under control, but was wondering if anyone has any good ones to recommend. I ventured to the movie theatre for the first time since the RLS went ballistic. Since it seems under control, I thought I'd try it. It worked! We saw Pirates of the ...

Welcome Smithwest, Jen, and Basswipe. I know it's like an oxymoron to welcome anyone to RLS, but I'm not, really. Just welcoming you to the board. We all know that we wouldn't willingly welcome RLS on anyone. . .OK, well, maybe some of the idiot doctors I had - just for a few minutes (or at least on...

My first thought when I read your lobotomy post was of the movie/book, Mike. It's one of the few movies that I didn't actually hate after reading the book first. Speaking of that, did you know shock therapy has totally come back into fashion!!!!! It seems to really help older patients with depression.

Lynne, I think it's great you are rooting for Penguin - she deserves it afterall. But, maybe think about NOT crossing your eyes. You might walk into a wall or something.

Yippe!!! Let us know how it turns out.

If I had a nickel for everytime I said something I later regretted. . .well, I'd have an awful lot of nickels. Bet that some of 'um would even be collectibles!

Besides, this is such a perfect example of how things happen online! Thanks for making it  . You meant to, right?

How I wish I didn't have any idea of what you were talking about!!! You probably have, but just in case. . .have you read, "When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies" by Hirschman and Munter? It is truly wonderful. But, so were most of the other books I read and I still struggle, but much less since that ...

Welcome, Gideon. Caffeine is known to aggravate RLS. I would guess that when you fast, you are either missing nutrients/vitamins/minerals that contribute to preventing RLS, or maybe that the stress of it brings it on. RLS is extremely variable in how it presents. The main theory is that it is an iro...

JC - sorry I missed your post before. There are some good threads about people newly diagnosed or just determining what to do about the RLS. Getting educated is probably your best bet. Start with the "sticky" posts in this section (and others). They really can help. You can take some printouts with ...

Be careful of the OTC ones, marandat. Many, if not most, have dipendydramine - it makes RLS worse. The best info we have on what you can take is in the "sticky" post in this section. So sorry you are going through this. It sure makes for a tough pregnancy, doesn't it?

Randy, maybe I wasn't clear. My intention was to say that we need to play nice and be respectful- that may include thinking about how we speak and what we say and how we say it. Personally, I would expect that from everyone in ALL threads. If people get offended, they need to speak up and let a Mode...

Mike, what happens to your posts when you try to post long ones? Do they just not go through, or maybe get some kind of error message? I don't like it that you have to type little bits here and there! Not sure I can resolve it, but I can at least let the RLSF know and see if there are any ideas.

Like Ruby, I've thought about replying many times and haven't. Until now. Religion and politics are slipperly slopes. As RLS has no particular boundaries, I'm sure that we could have Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, athiests, agnostics, Wiccans, and many more on this board. Everyone here has a ...

Grammy, one thought - shoot, I forgot. . . . . . oh, yes. The list on here. Please use it with caution. While many people have had great luck with it, a few of us have not. Sometimes doctors sign up because they want extra patients. They don't expect, though, to get the tough cases. You might want t...

Grammy, I wish I could say there was a reason for RLS getting worse - it just doesn't need one! But, stress, surgery, many anti-nausea drugs will all worsen it as will hot weather, too much or not enough exercise, alcohol, and not enough sex. OK, I'm not really sure about the last one , but lots of ...
