Re: Medication Side Effect Statistics
The doctor I traveled over 1000 miles to see prescribed a DA, Requip, that isn't working and may be augmenting. He did want me to see if taking my oxycodone differently would help at night. I pill at dinner and 1 at bedtime. But that has to be prescribed by my pain management doctor up here in Idaho...

Re: Neupro side effects
Thanks for that information. It sure felt like augmentation to me last night. I’ll start on iron tomorrow. We’ll see what the next few days show.

Re: Neupro side effects
So, after posting the above I’m having a severe rls episode. It feels like when I augmented on pramepexole. I had such an attack in the afternoon that took awhile to calm down. Is it too early to call this augmentation? Sure feels like it. Sad thing is I’m stuck in our bedroom walking a very little ...

Re: Neupro side effects
My ferritin level is 84. Dr feels that is good & also suggested taking an iron supplement to keep it from lowering in the future. I don’t intend to increase the dose on the Requip given my history. I do realize that restless legs can’t be totally eliminated & the goal is to find a level of c...

Re: Neupro side effects
Didn’t have restless legs during the entire sleep study. Did get diagnosed with sleep apnea. Trying the Requip & last night was woken several time with RLS. On just one pill for now but have the option for increasing the dose. So glad I sought out Scripps Medical Center & Dr. Poceta.

Re: Neupro side effects
Saw my doctor. He was very understanding about the Neupro patch. He wants me to try Requip. He says it is the most gentle of this class of drugs. I got scheduled for a sleep study tonight. Will meet with the doctor in the morning.

Re: Neupro side effects
I’ll work on tracking those down. I have received a lot of encouragement from all of your posts. I think I’ll be confident enough to bring up my misgivings. A good thing: this doctor is a specialist so I don’t need to educate him on anything RLS. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Re: Neupro side effects
I’m writing this from my crazy I phone. I had a reply but it is wandering throughout the atmosphere after hitting the preview box. I apologize if it shows up elsewhere. I appreciate your reply, thanks! It give me courage to tell my doctor my concerns about Neupro. I augmented on prax... after 1 week...

Re: Painful RLS
My RLS is painful on some nights. I feel it in my hips & it reminds me of a toothache. I have back issues that show up as hip pain & my neurosurgeon says the pain & RLS are neurally connected. On those nights with pain I sit in my chair with the heating pad across my lap rocking back &am...

Re: Neupro side effects
I’m seeing my new doctor tomorrow for a consult on meds before flying home to Idaho. I’ll discuss the side effects issues & cost. Not sure what the outcome will be. I know we cannot afford $300 a month for the Neupro.

Neupro side effects
I started on a Neupro patch last Thursday. It’s working with just 2 rls episodes. I have augmented on dopamine agonists in the past after 5 days. The only reason I’m trying Neupro is because my doctor is at an RLS Foundation Quality Care Center. It’s at Scripps in San Diego. He is an expert. My ques...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
My appointment at Scripps was worth the trip down from Idaho. I saw Dr Poceta & he knows all there is to know. He’s no-nonsense but still kind. I will have a sleepover as soon as they get a cancellation. They know it has to happen before I fly home in March 6. I had a blood draw for my ferritin ...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
I will be posting as I can while in San Diego. I'm excited to start the process. Also, I forgot to mention that as I was leaving my appointment yesterday, my PA asked me to bring back as much info as possible from the clinic because she has several patients with rls. We don't hear that very often.
