That is what is so incredible about our community! I am going through something totally unrelated to RLS/WED and you guys have been terrific!! Words cannot express my gratitude :-)

Re: Having a bad week

Exactly Ann! I feel like I know so much about RLS, and Melanoma, but next to nothing about breast issues. And I'd rather not know about them!! But this state of limbo is killing me. I don't know why I think I will feel better after the biopsy (perhaps because I will have done everything I can???) bu...

Re: Having a bad week

I've been told 5 business days, and I've been told 24-48 hours. Since the procedure is Wed afternoon, I am going to TRY to not expect news before the weekend Because of all the miscommunication, I now have the oncologist calling me almost every day. I've had the same OB-GYN for years and years, and ...

Re: Having a bad week

Actually, Ive been doing the oncology run-around!! It has been a mess. My melanoma margins are clear (yay!!) but second oncologist and radiologist disagreed on what type of breast biopsy to do (ultrasound or MRI). So after a lot of miscommunication (which has been tracked, I believe, to a secretary ...

Re: Having a bad week

Feeling a little better now, my husband and I had a great carefree weekend and I think that put me in a good place mentally for this week Had a terrible RLS ...

Re: Having a bad week

The last path report took one week (to find out they did not get the margins clear). So I expect I will hear April 14 or thereabouts. My oncologist does not call you with results. He schedules a follow up (take out stitches, etc) and gives them to you then. I like that system. By the 14th, I am sure...

Re: Having a bad week

Thank you thank you thank you.

Melanoma surgery Monday. Meeting with breast surgeon next Wednesday. That will take my mind off the melanoma path results I'll be awaiting haha

One thing I'll say for RLS sufferers, we are a hardy and loving bunch!! Thanks so much Polar Bear :-)

Re: anti-depressant

I am on Lexapro (30mg). When I was on 40mg, my symptoms were much worse, so cutting back to 30mg was sweet spot. My RLS doc wanted me on Wellbutrin instead (apparently does not cause extra RLS symptoms) but because I have a history of anorexia, I cannot take Wellbutrin ever. Seems bizarre to me (som...

Re: Pain meds really work

They (opiates) have improved the quality of my life immensely. I tried everything else first!! Thank heavens I have a doctor who believes in them. And I wouldn't dream of abusing them because if I lost the ability to use them as prescribed, I would be sentencing myself to sleepless-hell.

Having a bad week

Hi guys, I always know I am in good company when I cannot sleep!! I wish I could blame my sleeplessness on RLS/WED. And of course, that is what GOT me out of bed. But what is keeping me out of bed is my battle with cancer. I just feel like whining and I know how patient all of you are. At the end of...

Re: John Hopkins Glutamate Study

Sue~ I'm weighing in on the iron infusion!! My ferritan (sp?) levels were about 12 when I started this journey. Got them up to about 23 with oral iron supplements. Had the IV iron infusion using an excellent fairly new protocol per Hopkins (can message you Doc name, but again, he is in the Baltimore...

Re: John Hopkins Glutamate Study

Congrats! Glad you made it before the storm. I participated in the SIT test and had to take them at their word...just do it until you can't. The techs are so understanding. I, unfortunately, did not have a good experience with Neurontin. I gained one pound a day for the eight days I was on it. Worth...
