Re: Tolerance to THC?

I have not found the amount of CBD to influence how well the THC helps me sleep. After lots of trials, the only thing that seems to matter for me is the amount of THC. Adding CBD doesn't cause me any problems, but just doesn't make the THC work any better. CBD alone has no effect on my sleep at all....

Re: New to RLS forum

Anyway, I have a question: How can we know that RLS is caused by BID if we can't measure it? BID (Brain Iron Deficiency) has been shown to be the cause of RLS by numerous methods. The basics are: 1) Autopsy studies of brains of patients with RLS show low brain iron. 2) Functional MRI, tagged CT sca...

Re: Does it work to retry a medication?

Yes. The exact mechanisms that most RLS meds provide relief is not known. It is known that DAs cause neurotransmitter dysfunction that is at least partially reversible in many people is further support of this theory.

Re: Augmentation and gut microbiome

Interesting theory, and I too have been amazed at the wide ranging effects of varying gut bacteria environment. Problem is, BID (Brain Iron Deficiency) has been shown to be the cause of RLS by numerous methods. The basics are: 1) Autopsy studies of brains of patients with RLS show low brain iron. 2)...

Re: New to RLS forum

Leo, I'm happy you are doing well on the pramipexole. It sounds like you have learned quite a bit about RLS already. I agree with your plan to keep the max dose at 0.125mg. Now is the time to start talking to your doctor about Iron, especially IV Iron. Chances are excellent that at some time in the ...

Re: Tolerance to THC?

I don't use THC as much since my IV Iron infusions, but I used it nightly for about 2 years previously. No tolerance in that time. I took 10mg edible 90 min before bed, and 5mg about midnight or 1 AM. I weigh about 200 pounds.

...This justifies the usage of Cannabis based medicine in my situation big time. Given the circumstances and that I have not responded to any alternative treatments, this is almost a miracle. A lot of us have found this to be true, few to none of standard sleeping pills seem to work for us with RLS...

Polar Bear wrote:... happy to now have the kratom. Not sure just how high you can safely go in kratom dosage but will keep it as low as possible.
Most people can easily go up to 4 grams (about 2 tsp) without any problems. Over 8 grams causes problems (nausea, vomiting, constipation, etc) for most people.

... My ferritin was 8 and my iron saturation was 25%. No wonder I get out of breath riding my trike and walking up hills. I start a series of 3 iron infusions on Wednesday. Are you anemic? Very likely you are with a ferritin that low. If doc didn't say, what was your hemoglobin or hematocrit, those...

Re: Infusion #3

I'll be starting a series of 3 iron infusions next Wednesday. I'm assuming the doctor ordered Injectafer, since I told him I had a great experience with it last time around, except for the cost. It was several thousand dollars, and I'm still making monthly payments. And, our $4000 deductible resets...

Re: Experience with Injectafer?

So, a month after my Injectafer IV. Unfortunately I can report no significant improvement, I was on 25mg oxycodone before (10 in the morning and 15 in the evening) and tried to reduce that to 20mg (10/10) twice, once a week after the IV and once more last week, but it seems the RLS breaks through i...

Thank you so much for the reply and information stjohnh!! I am having a lot of trouble finding these IRLSSG guidelines you are speaking of though. I have hunted and not had any luck. Could you point me in the right direction? Try this: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S138994571731...

Re: Infusion #3

At $167 per month for Injectafer...... Approx $5.50 per day. The cost of a cup of really nice coffee.... Well maybe two cups :) LMW Iron Dextran - The insurance will cover this? Trying the one first that isn't costing you. Ordinarily, none of the IV Iron preparations will be covered, though some in...
