Aahh... those pangs of missing the kids.. It gives you mixed emotions, being glad that Karissa misses you and home, but you don't want her to be miserable. Good luck with the cake. I took the easy way out and bought plain cake then cut it to shape and used lots of fondant icing. I know.... I cheated...

Betty, Sorry you had such a bad experience with Ambien. Yes, I have found myself a little groggy sometimes when I awoke during the night, but generally, there have been no big problems. When I take it , it is usually just 5mg. However, last night, following Dr Bs email response, and my adjustment in...

Beth, that is wonderful news. Following Dr Bs suggestions , I slightly adjusted my ropinerole, and instead of little doses all day, changed to a bigger dose less frequently i.e.3 times daily. But only upping the daily dosage from 2mg to 2.5 mg.(He actually had suggested a little more). I lay down to...

Went to the movies twice recently, both starring Daniel Craig. Saw the Bond movie Quantum of Solace, which normally we wouldn't even consider a Bond movie, it was pretty good. Also saw him in 'Defiance' based on a true story during WW2. It was good. And doesn't Daniel Craig look so like a young Stev...

Hi Beth, I wondered how you got on with your visit to Dr B. I emailed him late last night, and when I got up this morning there was a reply. He had responded within 4 hours of my email. I had asked him about my medication regime and he gave me his suggestions. He is truly wonderful. I hope you found...

Hi Aiken, I suppose the only way to know if rls in ferritin related would be to make the level go up and see if it eases the rls. Hmm.. how to convince a doc to do this if he thinks the level is 'normal'. Also as I have been on a PPI for about 6 months, I wonder if this has affected my ferritin leve...

Yes Tim, Something I didn't say, but Nadia brought it up, this site definitely becomes a family. I log on very regularly, not always posting, but always keeping up with how everyone is. You know how it is, some days you are more chatty than others. And this family is very supportive, unbelieveably s...

I agree with you Anne. Let's be thankful for what we have (except rls !!) My employer has put everyone on a 3 day week, our savings that we worked hard all our lives to have for security are plummeting, thousands of jobs are being lost every day. I still have a 'part-time' job, for how long, who kno...

Hi Tim I have been a member of this site for approx. 2 years, and it has literally been a life saver. You will find so much information that you can show your doctor. In fact, I am at the moment in the middle of a worse than usual spell, and intend to email Dr B (Southern California Site - Mayo Clin...

Hi

My rls is 59, which I believe is not considered low, even for someone with rls.

Others will be along to tell you how they worked at increasing their ferritin.

Nicky, I often get the electric/burning feeling for about 5 minute before the rls jumpies start. Its like a warning. And sometimes it is worse than others. I have it at the moment, the burning has been onging for 24 hours now, even when the jumpies/crawlies have been at peace. And yet I had been wit...

Hi Nadia
I can understand how your stress levels will be flying high with the girls away. But you will be there for them when they get back from their 'holiday' and see their little faces again.

Hi Moonlight, yeah, we are on the same weather as yourself. Really only a few miles (plus 15 miles of sea) apart. High winds last night, and grey and mizzly today. I got up early this morning full of energy and had windows cleaned inside and place tidied before anyone else made a move. Now before fa...

Hi Anjali It is great that your doctor is familiar with rls. I have had to give my doctor the literature to educate him, and he is happy with this. I also have the symptoms during the day, and have been in the same position as Betty/WV, where I have worked at my desk standing up and find it impossib...
