GG--I have to wonder why it is that you say "As long as you are not terribly overweight, you do not have to worry with it making you too sleepy, and you can stay on the same dose long-term." I have never heard such a thing before. What would weight have to do with making you tired and need...

Hi Gill. I have RLS 24/7 as well. I have had bad experiences with the medications (mirapex, requip and neurontin) and am on my second try of Requip. My struggle is knowing how to balance dealing with the RLS vs. the medications and side effects. I worry that maybe my RLS isn't bad enough to warrant ...

Giving Requip one more try--question

I have been trying Requip again for about 2-3 weeks. I started out at .25mg and am now up to 1.0. I take it before bed, and the side effects haven't been too bad so far as far as dizziness goes. I have rls 24/7. What actually made me try requip again was that I was starting to have pain in my legs--...

NO!!!!! Could it JUST be coincidence????

Well, I decided to give requip another try as the leg pain has been driving me nuts. I took it 2 nights ago before bed, and it made me feel a little "strange", but otherwise, nothing. Last night I took it, and about 1 1/2 hours after taking it my OTHER leg started to hurt!! The SAME hurt a...

GG, thanks for the reply. Mine is in the front of my leg, not the calf, but I suppse that is just an individual thing?? I was just wondering what medicaitons you are on if you don't mind my asking. I just wonder because you mentioned the jerking and I had that while on Mirapex. I will never take tha...

Thanks for the replies. M, I have been on Mirapex, Requip and Neurontin. The only one that helped even a little was Requip, but I was so foggy on it, I decided at least with my legs going wild I could still think straight, so stopped that. I also have to wonder if my leg pain could be something vasc...

leg pain in only one leg??

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have been on. Things are okay. I have not taken any medication for a couple months because neurontin was terrible for me. My next step was narcotics, and I didn't want to use them during the day. But, I have been having a lot of leg pain lately. I was reading...

Thank you so much for the replies--kind of sounds like it is common for RLS sufferers?? Have any of you seen an audiologist for it?

Yes, my supervisor and co-workers know about me having RLS--they were the first to say something to me as I am ALWAYS moving my legs. I thought maybe it was just a nervous habit! However, I know they aren't as understanding when it comes to errors in my work. Bottom line is that my job is very detai...

I haven't had great luck with medications, either. Mirapex gave me no relief from RLS, but gave me terrible sleep and leg and head jerks. Requip worked some but made me spacey. And, neurontin was the worst. My doc said she would maybe try lyrica before narcotics, but I'm not sure I even want to try ...

Tinnitus??

Do or have any of you had tinnitus from medications? I have had it for YEARS, but it seems to have gotten so much worse--especially after neurontin--which I am no longer taking. I have it all the time now, and it is really becoming quite annoying. I remember as a child when we would come home from s...

Giving up on Neurontin!!

I have been taking neurontin for over 2 weeks. I am done. I was only on 100mg before bed and it was giving me terrible side effects for 14 HOURS!!!!! Sometimes longer. I am so fed up with feeling like crap until about noon I am stopping. It didn't do that much for my RLS anyway, and given the side e...

Thanks Zach. Good to hear that you had decreasing tiredness, but sorry it didn't work for you. I think it works for me, or at least seems to for a while, but when taking it at 8-9pm and then going to bed, it is hard to tell for sure by morning. I was a zombie before on it (until about 9-11am) and NO...

Thanks Susan and Corrie. That may very well be a good option. I would much rather try a narcotic at this point than try any more drugs that are messing with my brain like the ones have so far. One problem for me thought, is that I take Sarafem (fluoxetine), and that is not a good mix with Tramadol, ...
