Re: Vacation Reprieve
I thought I would update this topic one more time and let it rest. We just did a 4500 mile road trip from Florida around to see the relatives in the Mid West and my legs really behaved themselves. Two or three nights at each relative, only three nights in a hotel and a nice bed every night. I think ...

Re: Ferritin Level
Tim, are you taking iron with vitamin C with it on an empty stomach? That's what I couldn't take. I did that 4 or 5 times a week for an unpleasant year even though my ferritin has always been over 100. My RLS actually appeared to improve when I quit.

Re: RLS at 15 years
I know I should get diagnosed with sleep apnea but I can't imagine sleeping with a CPAP. My wife has taken video of me struggling to breath but this only happens when I finally reach deep sleep, calmly laying on me back about 4 am. The rest of the night I'm spinning like a top an imagine I would be ...

Re: OxyContin vs methadone or suboxone
Congratulations on getting off clonazepam. That was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life and ended back on it because of lack of options in Florida. Doctors say it does not treat RLS but does allow me to sleep. Sounds like you live somewhere where you have options so try everything else but d...

Re: Ferritin levels and IV iron
Jackolette, You sound like the perfect candidate with ferritin below 44. Many can speak more intelligently about this but mine is in the 200 range and everything I've read says the odds of it being the miracle treatment for me is very low but for you maybe. I've read $2000 for two sessions a few wee...

Re: Ferritin levels and IV iron
Jackolette, You are lucky to even find an infusion center that will even talk to you about IV Iron in Florida. Just try to steer them towards the correct Iron formulation. Rustsmith can help with that. Injectafer is the one I hear discussed. I was told by John Hopkins they no longer take out of stat...

Re: Requip to Lyrica
Although I was severely augmented on 4 mg Requip ER, that maybe permanently damaged my dopamine receptors, beware of the side effects of Lyrica. Over the four years I have been on Pregabalin I have started having high Granulocytes. They are a type of immune cells and they form the white blood cells....

Re: ER opiates (oxy) vs methadone
I'm undergoing neck cancer treatment with chemo and radiation, the only way I would ever get an opioid prescribed in Florida. I'm having trouble sleeping after chemo they say because of a steroid. I have not been impressed with 5 mg. oxy. I guess I expected a lot more. I guess it has it's own insomn...

Re: Saffron Spice for Insomnia. Maybe RLS
My wife and I have been using saffron for about 5 weeks. Just a pinch seeped in hot water and drink the tiny amount of residue, as it does not dissolve. We have been sleeping very well since this started. My RLS has been better for the last two months but I'm not sure what to attribute that to. It d...

Saffron Spice for Insomnia. Maybe RLS
I kept pressing oncologist haematologist about IV iron when I've seen him over the last year. He tells me it is beyond his knowledge and to find a University, specialist, etc. But 3 weeks ago he told me he has insomnia and uses saffron tea with good results. My wife, who is a health food advocate, w...

Re: CBD infused cooling gel
It's really helping me sleep on what otherwise would have been rough nights. Not very torn on whether to continue. Getting to sleep isn't such a wrestling match with my legs. Slept thru the night last night! A $60 pump dispenser might last a month.

Re: CBD infused cooling gel
I had a consultation with an out of state specialist who is licensed in Florida. He advised against using CBD because it has not been studied. His view is it potentially could make things worse with permanent damage. I was surprised as another neurologist just sold me it two weeks ago and I can buy ...

RLS treatment at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida
A good friend is getting surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and found they treat RLS. I was very surprised it never came up in my searches I make on a regular basis for help in this state. Has anyone had experience there? https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/restless-legs-syndrome/care...

Re: CBD infused cooling gel
I've had 9 nights of restful sleep. My wife suggested I apply it to my feet and the mild rash is about gone. There were three nights in the middle when I did not use it (because of rash) and still slept well. Is it just my disease cycle? I'll take anything I can get. Kala Organics CBD is the same pr...
