Re: Insurance and meds
I understand totally. I haven't had insurance for two years. But finally my medicare started this month. Now I will have to pay for the supplemental which won't be cheap. They also already cut my disability to pay for the medicare. We will have to cut back where we can. I hope you find something. I'...

Re: Insurance and meds
There are some companies that allow employees to work from home, just like you do now. Maybe, even with who you work with now. Since they know you, you could make the change to working directly for them and still work at home. It's worth a try.

Re: Trying to stop Mirapex
If you are augmenting, then it will never work just to cut back on the dose. The Augmentation won't stop unless you stop Mirapex. I'm sure you will find that your WED will just get worse if you continue taking Mirapex. The only way to try and take Mirapex again is to completely stop it for at lesat ...

Re: Trying to stop Mirapex
When I first start taking Neurontin I get very sleepy. Your doc will probably not give you the Methadone until you've tried the Percocet for awhile. The sleepiness from the Neurontin will be less with time.

Re: I'm new and want to share my experience
It sounds like they started you on too high a dose of the Methadone. I always start low, even cut tabs in half sometimes. In regards to your HTN (hypertension) and weight gain, that is common with the Mirapex and Requip. Most of us have gained weight with them. I watch my salt intake which helps wit...

Re: Trying to stop Mirapex
What happened to you was pretty normal, sorry to say. You might consider taking a week off to go through the withdrawal. You might consider Methadone. Several of us take it. It doesn't cause me to be sleepy. Also I should have said that Perocet causes me to itch as well as nausea. But I can take Met...

Re: Trying to stop Mirapex
One thing to remember is when you take Neurontin you do have to taper. Most of us take Opioids. Percocet causes me nausea, but I can take Methadone. It also doesn't make me sleepy.

Re: Trying to stop Mirapex
You might try and just go cold turkey with the Mirapex. Otherwise you will just drag out what you will go through. Several people have tried to wean down and it just is too uncomfortable. Good luck.

Well, I think PB is right about the condition that you were/are in, during the appt. If he's as good as we all hope, then he should have seen that. I'm glad you made it there and thanks for letting us all know how you are.

Re: Neupro Patch
Ann, I am very curious as to how it went for you. What time of day did you put it on ? I wasn't sure when they should be put on. I won't be getting a script for at least another month. I had thought my doctor in Albuq. was sending one, but he didn't. Now I realize, that of course he didn't send one....

Re: Wait - do I have WED?
Spinal stenosis is a condition due to narrowing of the spinal cord causing nerve pinching which leads to persistent pain in the buttocks, limping, lack of feeling in the lower extremities, and decreased physical activity.

Re: Wait - do I have WED?
I started getting WED/PLMD when my back started having it's issues. I think the nerves from the back caused the WED/PLMD. I ended up with spinal stenosis. It's just my opinion.

Re: Augmenting
Remember, what is a normal reading with the ferritin, for other people is not normal for us. For us it should be around 100. Find out what it was and/or get a copy so you can take it to the next doc. They are your labs and you have the right to have a copy. My sleep doc wants me to start the Neupro ...
