Re: astronomy

At the bottom of each picture of the day there is and "Archive" tab which lists all the previous pod's. Anyway, the one for February 14th is kinda neat. If you're interested in that type of thing it's not a bad way to pass some time. Anyway, Feb.14th goes out to all of you. Wishing all who...

astronomy

While I do not have a telescope or anything like that, I enjoy programs about the stars and our universe such as the program Through The Wormhole. Don't know if anyone here visits the Astonomy Picture of the Day website (apod) but there are some really great photos and interesting facts there. The v...

Re: Depression....again

Thanks, Joanie60 - it really is unbelievable hard to fight. The inertia - getting something started that has NO inclination to move. Yeesh. By these standards, BTW, I walked today....I went from my front door to the street and into the rental car. Then, I walked from the parking lot into my office ...

Re: Is it just me or…..

i think all the analogies are great. I guess what I'm curious about it how quickly, for myself and others, that my rls symptoms can go from virtually nonexistent to 0 to 60 as Views elegantly describes. I have fainted quite a few times in my life and know that I can quickly go from feeling pretty go...

Re: Is it just me or…..

I'm sure you guys (gals) have heard the joke about the themos bottle and "how do it know," but it's like that with rls. I mean, how do it know when your trying to sleep? Re-reading that sentence seems kind of silly or worse. Anyway, I sometime think it's all in the eyelids. Maybe rls is lu...

Re: Bad reaction to herbs and any sleeping meds.

I'm in the "Sleepless in Seattle" camp. Most meds do not make me drowsy or sleepy. Having said that the benzos did make me sleepy but quickly required hire and hire doses to do the job. Getting off them was extremely difficult. The Ambiens, Lunestas, etc. caused extremely vivid night terro...

Is it just me or…..

Is it just me or does this happen to you. Some time ago I have adopted a routine of reading in bed. I know that flies in the face of typically recommended sleep hygiene but nevertheless it was better than spending hours alone at night watching tv, reading, puzzles, playing rock, scissors, paper agai...

Re: Tetra Benazine

Here is a quote from near the end of the one page report: "Overall TBZ did not seem to worsen RLS symptoms, and in some cases may have improved symptoms. It suggests that reduced pre-synaptic dopamine release does not directly result in RLS symptom worsening despite RLS improvement with dopami...

Re: Tetra Benazine

I did a search and was unable to open several articles, however this did open. m No doubt you have found this one yourself. I am not familiar with this medication and would reiterate Sojourner's comment about the side effects. Couldn't get that one to open either. May be something in my browser. Ca...

Re: Tetra Benazine

Tetra Benazine (TBZ) is not a name that I remember reading about in this forum. I was unable to open several links related to TBZ and restless legs that showed up in my google search but it's related to dopamine in some way or another and apparently useful in treating hyperkinetic movement disorders...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

I'm sure this is not a new or novel password method but…. I keep all my passwords in a tablet near the computer. However, embedded somewhere in each password is a mini-password which I have committed to memory. So, in the short term, even if someone were to find my password tablet the passwords woul...

Re: The March email newsletter

Got it - here's my take (and it was written for doctors!) Hypoxia means that not enough oxygen gets to the tissues - and certain conditions (such as sleep onset or being on an airplane) can cause this to happen. They wanted to see if RLS subjects had less oxygen getting to the legs/muscles/tissues ...
