Another idea is IF you take either or both of those medicines ONLY at bedtime or ONLY in the morning, swap the time that you take them. You see, sometimes those drugs can rev you up a little too much and wreck your sleep at night, and other times you need those drugs at night so you won't wake up wi...

I take Zoloft for depression, more than ten years now, and I kind of wish I had never gotten on the drug because it is so hard to get off it. But anyway, I got RLS about five years in on the Zoloft, so I do not think Zoloft caused it. The previous post just above mine that runs thru some stats, look...

I'd also like to clarify that I did not mean for Moonlight to go out and buy a case of OTC codeine! Moonlight has come on here a lot seeking help, and I hate to see her cry, so I was only giving her my very best advice to get her thru this rough patch "right now," as I said. But I do join ...

Hi Moonlight, Sorry to hear your RLS is being so hateful to you. I imagine walking around Edinburgh is what set them off this time. Whenever I do a lot of walking my RLS is worse. Let's see, a good drug for the nerve pain you are also putting up with is Lyrica or pregabalin, and if it is to work, it...

Thanks Ann and Zach for shedding light on Facebook for me. I guess it boils down to having one's own website URL, with options to make it easy for invited friends to say hello and put pics and so forth. And yah, Zach, I have heard so many unpleasantries associated with Facebook that I also don't hav...

Would somebody explain to me, for I am a bear with very little brain, what facebook really is? We were invited by our grown daughter to join her facebook page, and that's the extent of my knowledge. How does it connect up people and work? I know this has nothing to do with RLS, but I would appreciat...

Sue, I am so glad for you! It is such a great feeling to have a goodly doc who knows what he's doing and cares for you, particularly when it comes to serious stuff like RLS. And sounds like a good vote for Mirapex. Internal medicine docs are the greatest, too, I had one once. GG

Hi Beth Badnites, Uh, to answer quests, in your Canada, prescribing is a little diff than our US. I am not certain US prescribes straight codeine. And once-per-mo means you visit doc every month, I think. But I thank you for the advice that more codeine would kill more pain, that's what I was hoping...

increase codeine?

Hi everyone. Since I know this forum's folks the best, even tho this is a pharmaceutical type topic, I'd rather ask here for now. I take Tylenol Codeine #3 and it completely covers my RLS. Just so you know, my other drugs are Lyrica for back pain, Klonopin for panic disorder, and Zoloft for depressi...

I think it's a good idea to encourage men to post. I also think I know why so few do, perhaps. Women do a lot of talking because they are good communicators, they can tell quite the stories with the greatest of ease. However, men are better at other things, and while no sweeping generalization can b...

If I have this right, you do not have RLS in your legs, rather in your upper body. Others here are more knowledgeable, but my understanding is it starts and is majorly present in the lower legs, and THEN it may travel up the body, all the way to a full-body jerk thing. I see a neuro, but if yours is...

I agree with the other posters, opiates will not cause you to fall asleep at the wheel, but of course the Mirapex CAN with some people and is clearly listed as a possible side effect. But it could very well be that combining the two pushed the Mirapex over the edge on that issue, if you were taking ...

I see, Pam. Well, I did read a response at your other post for which doc to go to, and I was glad to read someone recommended an expert at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, not ALL that far, I suppose, compared to other places, especially if you can drive to an Amtrak. But anyhow, like you said, could b...

Whomever is treating you for RLS, please do show them literature that lists opiates as a category to treat it, it has worked for me for years, it's almost sure-fire for many people's relief, as i've jabbered about before. If it's not a type of drug you've tried already, I think since the docs are wa...

Cleveland Clinic is in Northern Ohio, but I guess you already had figured the mileage. Looks like a train might be a good bet, if you can easily drive to a town that has Amtrak, and go to the particular campus in Ohio that have docs that treat RLS. The train might work, too, for Mayo Clinic in Minne...
