Re: Remission?

Yes, I've been taking Methadone for two years. It was actually a very good move for me. They had me on all sorts of drugs before that. They were awful: weight gain (50 pounds), emotional issues, and just feeling awful. I was able to stop three different meds with the Methadone. The thing about that ...

Re: Highest dose of Gabapentin ?

I no longer take Gabapentin, even though it does help me. The only side affect for me is the weight gain. I am now loosing weight since I have also stopped Mirapex (again).

Re: Remission?

I started Mirapex in 1997. I believe that I started augmenting in 2008, but I didn't know it at the time and neither did the doctor. He just kept upping my dose until 2009 when it became extremely difficult. I went off of it then. I recently took Mirapex two more times. The second time I didn't augm...

Re: Roller Coaster Ride

Finally had a good night. I just thought that I should report the good nights, as well as the bad. I slept from 1:30 am to 3:30 am, then 4 am to 6 am, then 8 am to 11 am. What makes it so good was the 8 to 11. Three whole hours and I didn't wake up to WED/PLMD. I did mess up though. The 4 to 6, I fe...

Re: Remission?

Wonderful story. I stopped Mirapex about 3 weeks ago. I've had some ok times and some very bad times. I keep thinking that if I wait long enough it will get better. The only thing I'm taking is Methadone. I try to take as little of it as I can. I have been thinking about using the Neupro patch. I ke...

Re: Neupro Patch

Ann, since I was only on one tablet of the Mirapex .125 mg, do you think I should start out at 1 mg patch and cut it in half ? Then I can increase if I need to. I don't want to do more than I need. Just wanted your opinion. I realize you aren't a doctor, but I think highly of your opinions. Also, do...

Re: Roller Coaster Ride

Thanks Ann for your support. It means a lot to me. I've had a miserable day. Yesterday was so nice. This evening has been better. I just didn't take any extra meds during the day. I wanted to save them for the night. I might just sleep in the recliner tonight since I'm so tired. I'm counting the day...

Re: Roller Coaster Ride

I understand what you are saying. I tried the recliner full time awhile back. It worked ok, I guess. The thing is I missed being in bed with my husband. It seemed like we were never together. He spends most of his days and nights in bed because of his illness. Then when I went back to the bed it nea...

Re: Roller Coaster Ride

First I want to say thank you for the people here and this site, who allow me (and all of us) to communication our feelings and experiences. My story isn't anything out of the ordinary, but the reason I write here is that it helps me so much to be able to talk to someone about how I feel. I'm a 62 y...

Re: Roller Coaster Ride

It wasn't so bad last night. It slowed down, but I couldn't go back to bed until about 4:30, but then slept til 7. Then took another 2 hour nap later this past morning. So I have felt pretty good today. This evening I haven't had to take the Methadone early. So not so bad. I have decided to start th...

Re: Neupro Patch

Thank you. It is so hard to make this decision. I was thinking that if my current level of WED/PLMD doesn't change I would try the patch at about a month after the Mirapex. Last night and today was a little better. It will be 16 nights tonight.

Do you have to start it ? Can you go back and see her? Otherwise you can't continue like this.
