Re: Mirapex not enough
Hi jm1945: I started on Mirapex in August of this year. My neuro started me on .25mg. at 9pm. But that wasn't enough, I would have symptoms earlier in the day. So he told me to take another .25mg earlier. So now I take .25 mg. at around 1 or 1:30pm and another at 9pm. That seems to work well. If I h...

Re: Nightowl
Hi Nightowl: Just wanted to say that I totally understand your feelings. And I hope you can find help. I have suffered with this "demon" of RLS for 30 or so years. I also understand how you feel about people (friends, family) not understanding. It really hurts to think that no one cares,, ...

re: pain in top of feet
Hi IMtonif: I have had pain in the top of my feet also. At times wondered if it was the RLS. Suspected it was. But never heard of it happening to anyone else, until I read your post. It usually happens if I am overly tired, walked alot or was on my feet alot. RLS sure is a weird syndrome isn't it. H...

re: side affects
Lets see, where do I start??? I took neurontin, didn't notice that it helped at all. Do not take it now. Took requip, gave me severe upset stomach and migraines. Stopped it. Ice Cream will set me into a RLS panic. Take tramadol sometimes, and it constipates me. But helps the RLS and the artheritis B...

Re: fibromyalgia
Yes, Angela, I have fibro along with RLS. I was diagnosised years and years ago with fibro by a chiropractor. They called it fibrocitis then. That was before I knew I had RLS. I think, as I have read in this forum that alot with RLS also have fibro. Hope you find relief. Its alot to deal with isn't ...

Re: Half life of 40 hrs for Klonopin????
Would someone please explain to me what it means about "half life" as Klonopin has halflife of 40 hours. I take Mirapex with .5mg of klonopin andI am always so tired throughout the day. I think I read an explanation somewhere but forgot exactly what was said. I know Dr. B doesn't recommend...

Re: augmentation
Hi ViewsAskew: Reading your post, you said,"If you have augmented on more than 2 meds. you will keep augmenting and shouldn't keep trying." So, what do you do. And are there different degrees of augmenting? I take .25mg of Mirapex, twice a day. Sometimes I have slight symptoms for just a b...

Re: Going barefoot
Hi Mack: Everything about this syndrome is WEIRD. I never noticed anything about going barefoot. But everytime I set down in my chair by the computer, my legs start acting up. Its a good idea to keep a journal and document all these things, I'm trying to do this. I keep having short episodes, not se...

Hey: Yes, I have neurontin, and lyrica. I never really noticed where they helped me. But these meds. have helped others. That is one thing with RLSers, we are all different, yet the same. What works for one may not work for another. I don't take either one now. My new neurologist weaned me off the n...

re: sound triggers
Speaking of sound triggers!!!! I don't know if certain sounds trigger my RLS. But I know that recently certain sounds make me nuts. Certain voices, and anything loud, like the TV or radio. I'll have to pay attention and see if the sounds do trigger my RLS. I know some of my triggers, but there are p...

Re: Good news
Yes, for me it is good news. I went to my neurologist yesterday. He is new to me, I have only been to him 3 times. He put me on Mirapex, and it is working, so far. Hope it continues, along with .5 mg. of Klonopin. Anyway, I printed out the Mayo Clinic Algorithm, and gave it to him along with the boo...

Re: Sound and touch
Hi Woodsie: Welcome, what you describe sounds like RLS but the only difference is I never heard of sound and touch triggering RLS. And if it is RLS some of the meds you have been on are terrible for RLS. And I never heard of being able to see the muscles in your legs or arms moving, so as to notice ...

re: feeling alone
Hi Lex: You are definitely not alone. There are so many RLSers out there. I know how you feel. I have not told to many people why I am so tired and don't sleep, until recently. But of course for so long I didn't know what was wrong with me. But family and friends still don't understand and look at m...

Re: Mirapex
Hi Jml: I was started on Mirapex in August, it helped me immediately. But after a month I started having symptoms early in the evening. I called my doctor and he told me to start taking one .25mg around 1 or 2 pm and one at 9 pm. That did the trick. I know it is recommended to start at .125mg. But m...
