Yes, I knew that insomnia was a side effect of Mirapex and Ropinerole (which I am using) and also went through the wide awake nights, even if my legs were behaving themselves. I then look Ambien which only gave me a couple of hours sleep. My regime actually was to fall asleep for a couple of hours w...

Dale, I feel for you so much and want for you to get some relief from somewhere. I don't understand how your health system works and how it can be that someone can't get a doc appointment. In my ignorance, and I may be totally off the track here, but can you go to Hospital Emergency for help, saying...

FYI, for those of us who tend to worry about things, particularly future things that we can't control, my best friend LOVES this book called The Worry Cure Book. After months of hearing how this has helped her in so many ways, I've decided to order it myself.[/quote] This is sooooo me - worrying ab...

I agree so much with Dogeyed and Runkrun...... please just go back to your primary care doc, face to face, and try these meds. How can you say you have tried and done everything when your doc has offered this treatment and you haven't tried it. When your symptoms are this bad, is it not worth trying...

Dale,
I also have this one
http://www.rls.org/Document.Doc?&id=346
which refers to rls and depression.
I have this document and the above mention one, saved on my Favourites for ease of referral. Could be good information for a doctor.

Hi Dale
I did a little bit of searching and found this http://www.rls.org/Document.Doc?&id=428
If you scroll down to where it discusses 'Pain Relievers when RLS is Severe' it mentions Talwin NX (pentazocine).

I agree with runkrun, what about asking your GP straight out for an opiate, tramadol is what has made the difference for me, topping up my requip, and a face-to-face appointment is so much better than email in which the tone can be misread. Most people are wary of trying a different med, I would tak...

Stitch, that's very tough, that the after surgery pain is so bad. We always hope that there is a pain relief med that will hit the spot, so to speak. Sadly we all know on this site that there is not a perfect medication for every ailment. It is wonderful that your rls is under control, especially as...

Hi Sleuth The cost of the consultation is about the same as here in the UK if we were to make a private appointment i.e. not through our healthcare system. When I read of your costs, and also in another thread the cost of some of the meds/tests, I have to be grateful that over here we pay a flat rat...
