Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)
Eefall - I empathise so much with your moving back and forth and seeking respite. Last night was a toughie for me also, but rocking or walking on the spot just doesn't do it for me and I must actually walk, cover distance. Last night I was awake all night and at eventually just after 7am fell aslee...

Re: How can I Avoid Augmentation?
Thanks PolarBear! I have the book and have had the ferritin test. I did not get the number but will when I see doctor next month. I got an iron supplement to see if it helps until then. I'm having success with 1 mg. Ropinirole but get varying degrees of RLS in the evening. I tried 4 mg. Gabapentin ...

You what?
Ok, not gonna get this right, take a little editorial liscense, and apologize ahead of time. So, two single individuals of differentiated hair color were discussing their RLS and how it had significantly diminished their sex lives. So, one says to the other, "I'm going to do something really di...

Re: Getting off pramipexole etc.
I am tapering down on gapapentin. I should have done the same with the Neupro patch. I stopped cold turkey and paid a price for it. So, I went back up to 4 mg for a day and have now started to taper down. I read on one site that I should go to 3mg for two days, then 2mg for two days, then 1mg for t...

Re: Super Bowl
Didn't have a horse in the race but was glad to see the sentimental favorite win--even though he did not have a very good game I was happy for Peyton. I didn't think the commercials were very good this year. Thought the Prius commercial was perhaps the best of the "non-animal" ones. Enjoye...

Re: Getting off pramipexole etc.
OK, I will do that. But not only was I not on a large dose, I was also only on it for a month. I think not being on a large dose and not being on it for just a short time can figure into your taper. But, I would still error on the side of doing things slowly. Sometime it takes your body a few days ...

Re: Getting off pramipexole etc.
Not sure about the Neupro, but I would definitely recommend tapering down from the gabapentin. In many respects you were not on a large dose of gaba so that should lessen the tapen a bit. But, unless there is some big hurry, I would not rush the taper. I'm cycling thru gaba for the second time after...

Re: Transitioning from Mirapex to Horizant
gabapentin encarbil - 300-600 mg once daily according to Clinical Management of Restless Legs Syndrome. Thanks. Horizant is/was a potentially new med for me to try. However, the cost of the med is significant and one that I probably could not sustain over the long haul. I'm debating giving it a try...

Re: RLS or something else? Part 2
Thanks again to all of you for your support. The MRI confirmed that I have spinal cord compression caused by three bulging cervical discs (cervical spondylosis with myelopathy). Fortunately, my spinal cord compression is classified as mild, and its progression should be slow, so I am not in imminen...

Re: Lyrica/Hand (Finger Tremors)
Just thought I would update this… Am completely off the lyrica at this time. Tremors in all but my right hand have for all purposes subsided. Right hand tremors predate the lyrica and I think are related to hand surgery gone funny. Now trying to find other med(s) to replace the lyrica. Neurological ...
