Nope, won't ignore it.

Jan, You have every right to be sick and tired of this crap, and if you can't let it out here, where can you? Please don't be embarrassed, you're with friends who understand. Our lives, our personalities are dramatically changed when we lack sleep and/or are in chronic pain. We can't handle the stuf...

Migraines

Yes, I have had migraines all my life (infrequently, maybe 3-4 times/year), as well as RLS, but the migraines are not associated with increased or decreased RLS symptoms. In general I don't have frequent headaches. FWIW...

Not Me...

My symptoms usually start just after I fall asleep and wake me right back up - damn frustrating! I also have some daytime symptoms and airplanes can be a real drag. You'll see by reading the forum that we all have different triggers, times, symptoms and of course, different treatments that work (not...

Phew, in the nick of time!

Jumpy, glad you picked up a few to tie you over!

Sole, I took .5 mg Mirapex last night and slept amazingly well for a change, with no temazapam. I'm glad for that and will continue that dose for awhile.

Hope everyone's doing well this morning,

Increase Mirapex

The RLS has been bad this past week, no big changes in lifestyle, just crappy nights with a wild left leg (the one that's had 9 knee surgeries, go figure). I've been taking .125 mg Mirapex but have had to supplement it with temazapam to get any sleep, but don't like the idea of taking it nightly. I'...

Hi Pat, Kind of a relief to find out you're not nuts, isn't it! Someone here posted recently about just having their 6 yr old son diagnosed. Nice that he won't have to go thru his whole life before finding some relief. Welcome, take a look around, read & educate yourself, and ask any questions t...

Greek God (might as well continue your fantasy!), My solution for years when the RLS started in bed was to get up and do leg lifts and toe raises until my muscles maxed out. Generally I could go back to bed and fall asleep. For me it wasn't an elevated heart rate that gave relief but the maxing out ...

Hey Kodie, Regarding exercise & RLS I have yet to find a strong correlation between them. I did notice, during a period when I was doing fairly intense & frequent weightlifting, that my RLS was worse, but then taking a break from lifting did not decrease the symptoms. Go figure. Over the las...

Mirapex Update & Dreams

Started .125 mg Mirapex before bedtime 6 weeks ago. I'm sleeping well for the most part, and have not had much in the way of RLS symptoms IF I take the Mirapex an hour before bed. Unfortunately I often forget and then have about an hour of RLS before sleep. Daytime sleepiness has diminished also, wh...

Tom, As already mentioned, educating yourself and then your doctor is the best place to start. Two excellent links from this site to get you started: The 2004 RLS Medical Bulletin: http://www.rls.org/literature/bulletin.html The Algorithm for the Managment of RLS: http://www.mayo.edu/proceedings/200...

Tylenol PM

Stefanie,

Tylenol PM has Diphenhydramine as the "sleep aid" portion of the med, which is a type of antihistamine. It causes drowsiness for many people, but is known to worsen RLS symptoms. It is torturous for me, I avoid all products containing antihistamines. Best,
