Re: CBD infused cooling gel

That's great it helped you! I haven't found CBD to be particularly helpful with RLS, but I do have some topical balm that helps with my TMJ, teeth clenching, neck tightness issues. And there are other ingredients that might be helping, so I have no clue what's in that helps. I do find the Miracle Pl...

Re: Mayo Clinic

Years ago, when I first had augmentation from the DA's and was going to a pain clinic for methadone, I called Mayo. It's 90 miles away and we used to live near there. They said something like, "Why do you think you deserve to see one of our doctors here?" Having lived in Rochester for 5 years, and h...

Re: Low Oxalate Diet, a possible explanation for its effectiveness

This question is a tough one :) I can't say that my RLS has changed in overall severety, but it's under control with 20mg Oxycodone a day. But my main condition is ME/CFS, and I had a pretty good summer compared to the years before. So maybe the alanine does something after all. Thanks for answerin...

Re: Low Oxalate Diet, a possible explanation for its effectiveness

Frunobulax, have you found the alanine to be helpful? This is all very interesting, but not doable for me because just about everything I can still eat is high oxalate. I do take calcium and magnesium, zinc, and B vitamins. But I'll try anything to find out if it helps.

Re: My one year anniversary on a low oxalate/salicylate eating plan.

You people doing low oxalate diets have my respect! And I'm so happy it helps you. I looked at the Facebook group and some other websites and it seems I gravitate toward high-oxalate foods. Chocolate, black tea (lots of iced tea), turmeric and other spices in my hot tea (ooling which isn't so bad ex...

Re: calcium

My understanding is that, if you take calcium, you need to also take magnesium and vitamins D and K. Vitamin K keeps the calcium out of the arteries and moves it to the bones and teeth, where it belongs. I was diagnosed years ago with osteoporosis, when I was super skinny after taking Xyrem for seve...

Re: Is augmentation permanent??

I augmented within a few weeks. It got to be when I took a DA, my whole body felt like it was burning. There was no way to taper off. I just stopped taking the med. And then, I had to move, and move, and dance around. I could not sit still. The prescribing doctor prescribed Vicodin, but wouldn't pre...

Re: Chi machine

My neuro says that he is no longer allowed to prescribe methadone. My primary doctor says it's ridiculous that I can't get it prescribed since I took it for many years responsibly, but he doesn't want to prescribe it because the FDA harasses doctors who prescribe it. He said he will help me get into...

Re: Chi machine

I have so many devices! Alpha Stim, electronic muscle massager thing with electrode pads, massage gun, foot massager, and now the chi machine. I was surprised it worked well enough for me to get to sleep in the big, comfy, overstuffed chair. I had the machine on the ottoman. I could still feel the R...

Re: Chi machine

This is an old thread, but I didn't want to start a new one. I just got a chi machine, mostly because I have tight hips and a lot of back problems. Last night I woke up with RLS, and while waiting for the meds to kick in, I lay down on a comfy chair with my legs on the chi machine. I could still fee...

Re: Riding the Big One (RLS 24/7, Hanging Ten)

Betty, 2 teaspoons is a fairly good dose of kratom, but it depends on the variety and the time of year it was harvest and whether it was rainy season or dry. Since my RLS has been so bad lately, I use the 50 to 1 extract, and add an 1/8 teaspoon to my regular teaspoon. But it takes an hour for it to...

Re: Compression Yoga Pants

I bought some Sleep Slimmers and Compression Z tights, and neither has strong enough compression to make the RLS go away. But they do make it easier to pull on the knee sleeves and compression sleeves. Last night I tried going without the compression sleeves on my calves, and the RLS acted up down t...

Re: Compression Yoga Pants

Two nights and a couple of naps, and the compression sleeves have have helped a lot. I tried compression socks so many times in the past, and just having compression on the calves doesn't help. But around the thighs is magic. I don't expect this to make it all go away, but every little thing helps! ...
