Re: RLS Patient Symposium
I was at the symposium also and had my daughter take notes. As soon as she types them up I'll be able to add to this conversation. One item I found disturbing also is #5. I was surprised that these experts didn't have much input on the suicide issue. If they could read the stories on this forum and ...

Re: How long have you had RLS/WED
I had RLS intermittently from around 40 years of age. Usually I would get it on long flights. I didn't know there was a name for this. My mom had it in her later years and took Xanax for it. About 3 years ago I started having a problem with pain in my left knee. I was on hydrocodone for that but it ...

I'll discuss that with this doctor.
I was able to get a sleep study next Wednesday.

Re: Need Sleep
The sleep doctor knows RLS very well. I was so pleased with his knowledge. I don't have slight sleep apnea, actually it is severe at different times during the early morning hours. He is concerned and will do a sleep study with a c-pap machine in the lab. We talked about medications and he understan...

Re: Need Sleep
Today I finally have an appointment with a sleep doctor. There is only one in our area and it has taken since April to get in with him. I hope he has some suggestions as to how to get more sleep. I have slight sleep apnea so he will be addressing that. I'm hoping he is familiar with RLS!

Re: RLS Foundation hosting a Patient Symposium
I probably wouldn't be going but for the fact that I needed to see Dr. Poceta for a follow-up appointment at this time. When I saw the symposium was at the same time I decided to take advantage of the opportunity. Plus we will get to spend time with one of our 4 sons and his family who live in San D...

Re: RLS Foundation hosting a Patient Symposium
I am excited to be going. Can you imagine the hotel at night where some will be staying? Lights going off and on, people walking the hallways. We have to keep a sense of humor here. I'm sure it is expected that there will be a lot of walking and standing in the back during the lectures. But, these a...

Re: weather
Steve, My mom instilled in her children a love for Scotland. My husband and I have been 3 times and would love to go back. I had such a feeling of coming home when I first stepped off of the plane. My grandfather was born in the area between Glasgow and Edinburgh, Blackball. His last name was Frickl...

Re: weather
Betty, I clicked on both links. WOW! thanks for sharing those. Yes it is interesting where a chat about weather can lead. That's one of the things that makes this group special. We are so sleep deprived we will follow any rabbit trail. We are going back up in temps and probably will stay there until...

Re: weather
Betty, That was quite a story! I laughed while reading it but quietly as to not waken my husband. We have had some funny travel stories from Scotland. The first visit we did ScotRail and B&Bs. We were much younger then and walked everywhere. Last visit was in 2007 when we went with friends. We s...

Re: weather
We are having a typical day of 78'f today but tomorrow we go back up to high 80's and low 90's. My cold turned in bronchitis! I had to go to Urgent Care on Saturday morning to see a doctor. She was very compassionate and when I told her I had restless legs syndrome she was sympathetic and gave the i...

Sorry but I just have to whine a bit! It is 105'f here in the mountains of northern Idaho! We just don't get these temps and it is supposed to go up to 107. Add to that, I have come down with a cold. For some strange reason I am able to sleep more than just the hour I usually get in. We have had a b...

Re: Camping
I have used hot water bottles all my life. Love them on cold winter nights. That's a great idea to use them camping.

Re: Camping
That is it Betty! With 5 kids add to that whose turn is it for the next s'mores and how come he got to put the log on the fire. Good memories. I don't think my RLS would allow me to sit for long around the campfire these days. Besides, where would I plug in my heating pad?

Thanks! I will definitely mention this to my PA and my specialist. It makes sense.
