Re: Nerve Tension

The paper mentioned above indicates strongly that nerve sheath inflammation, restricting nerve movement and causing a blockage, is the mechanism for RLS symptoms. Nerve pressure in individuals is going to create a variety of responses. What surprises me is that the symptoms are so similar and not di...

Re: Blood Flow Restriction and Catching a Cramp

When I refer to a cramp I mean that moving fade in and out sporadic tightening sensation that is not painful but very uncomfortable. They activate the larger and smaller muscles, but the cramps aren’t strong enough to make my foot move, so the source isn’t clear. I've spent up to 2 hours trying ever...

Re: Melatonin

You could try a small dose first, such as 500 mcg. Then try 2 capsules, 3 and so on. Everyone is different, with 3 mg good for me and someone I know zonked out on that amount, with 500 mcg just right. When managing it with RLS it can be a balancing act. With melatonin you may get better quality slee...

Blood Flow Restriction and Catching a Cramp

Re: Nicotine Mints - Personal Success

Nicotine during the day will make things worse, for me anyway.

You need to take the mints when you wake and are cramping.

Bad nights need more, and more frequently.

I still do a stretch and a mouth full of water, and then back to sleep.

Inhaler should do nicely.

Nicotine Mints - Personal Success

As the title says, I found nicotine mints helpful for RLS, although I would advise caution. My background is simple, change of diet around 8 years ago at 42 to keto, started to get what I thought were calf cramps at night, solved with a simple stretch. Then I went into extreme fat loss mode and used...
